Could Jordan Bowden come back?

Lol

Yes it does. Only 5 hit the floor at once my man. Lots of college basketball season was already over and a large majority had 1 more game left.
You can’t sacrifice many to benefit the few

Sacrifice? Give me a break. Literally no one would be "sacrificed."

Incorrect, some of these kids have worked their entire life at trying to accomplish the goals they set. Its possible those goals could have been accomplished this year, Auburn has a roster full of seniors. The ones who are going to go pro will anyways, but there is absolutely nothing to lose by giving the seniors an extra year. If you ever played any type of sport and did so your whole life, then you would understand how those guys feel knowing they may have played their last game ever and it wasn't even in their control. Whether it was the NIT or NCAA tournament, they still had something taken away

I get it. It sucks for those guys who were going to be playing in the NCAA tournament, and I feel terrible for them. That's life, though. Sometimes it doesn't go perfectly according to plan for us. Sometimes opportunities we deserve get snatched away from us. We have to move on nonetheless, and that's what the basketball seniors have to do here. Giving them another season for missing out 7 or 8 games at the max just doesn't make sense.

Yep. These seniors had their time. Giving them another year is taking away from the freshmen who deserve their turn.

They’ve got to increase the # of scholarships then cause most schools are already full or have replaced players they expected to lose.

Makes almost no sense whatsoever. UT very well may have had 2 more games remaining. Many will get 1 more game only. Then a tiny handful relatively will get 3-6 more games and 4 FF teams get maybe 7-8. An entire extra season for seniors on EVERY CBB team. Dumb. Cut your losses NCAA and just hang it up for 19-20 season.

NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility to every player who’s season was cut short, don’t see why he couldn’t
This is like 1980 olympics. Thanks for your training and commitment but it’s done and over with. No way winter sports granted extra year. Spring sports, yes.

Yep they will have to grant 1 year exception on scholarship limits...for spring sports

This is unknown territory since this is the first time the NCAA Tournament has never been cancelled. I understand the argument on both sides of it but what makes this a difficult decision is that several conference tournaments had already been completed. Everyone keeps talking about the seniors but what about all the freshmen, sophomores and juniors?

The only two fair outcomes I can see happening are 1.) Every player in Winter and Spring sports that did not crown a champion gets an extra year of eligibility regardless of their class or 2.) Everyone moves on to next year and only the Spring sports players get an extra year of eligibility.

I know I’m glad that I don’t have to make the decision because this is something that’s not in the playbook and is unprecedented.

It makes sense that if you do it for teams that had a legitimate chance like Dayton to make a run, why would it not be the same for every school that could of got in by winning their conference tournament?

They haven't decided on winter sports seemingly from what I've read. But if he can (or even lamonte) then we will be very good next year and we could redshirt guys like Pember and Gaines. That's all assuming they want to. Jordan has at least a decent shot at the NBA.

Bowden has no shot.

There would be some loaded mid-major teams if they granted seniors an extra year in CBB. I say just move on.

Why stop at mid majors? An exception like that could provide a massive imbalance all over the place. TN could effectively get one player back (Bowden), while auburn could get purifoy, doughty, McCormick, Wiley, and McLemore back. They could literally start 5 5th year seniors.

I’m all for allowing this, but I think people are overreacting...most seniors across the country already had their careers over, so we are saying give an extra year to all seniors because a small percent had a game or two left, and another small percentage missed a chance to play in the NCAAT? I get it sucks for those kids, but giving another full year of eligibility because of missing on average 1-2 games seems a little crazy.
I think most seniors would be ready to move on with the next phase of their lives.

This will obviously be a great learning lesson and life lesson on how to handle adversity as they proceed down their chosen path.

I don’t think they will and don’t think they should. For one...most of our games were already played and had we lost our first sect game we’d have nothing left to play for. It was a really disappointing year for Bowden and turner as o suspected it would be if we had to depend on them. I’m ready to see a new crew of leaders on the floor for the vols next year. We the really good newcomers and some young guys that’ll be back we should have a much better year. And fulky will prove you be a much more dependable senior than the seniors we had to depend on this year
