Could we be headed for global chaos? Significant fuel shortages? Severe food shortages?

Some of the factors:

1) Shortages for items in general have been ongoing since the economic shutdown over the pandemic. China continues to do shutdowns.

2) Incredibly high fuel costs have lead to much higher costs for fertilizer and diesel. Some farmers simply cannot afford their fuel bills. Some have skipped fertilizing which will result in a poorer harvest. 1 ton of fertilizer cost about $400 last year. It's over a thousand a ton this year.

3) China had a poorer grain harvest last year due to floods followed by drought. They have been sucking up extra grains.

4) Inflation, inflation, inflation.

5) The war in Ukraine. Some farmers did not plant. Some farmers will not be able to harvest. Up to 50 percent of Ukraine's grain harvest may be lost, and they feed a lot of people. Other nations may take note of this impeding disaster and launch military action against Russia.

6) Rumors of a sharp diesel shortage later this summer could lead to infrequent deliveries of needed items across the U.S. This could greatly affect the grain harvest as well.

7) What's the deal with the food processing plant fires and such?

Potential results:

1) The world wide grain shortage could result in food shortages so severe that people simply cannot get enough carbs. Riots in 3rd world countries, even revolutions may result from this. Here, the shortage will likely result in people resorting to other carbs like potatoes and fruits, which may even lead to shortages for even these items later this summer and fall.

2) An expanding war in Europe. World war III. Some global powers may no longer sit by as their store shelves become more empty and their farmers can't afford fertilizer and fuel. Russia may get wiped out because of this.

3) The political upheaval. Many in power will pay the price for this. Violence, getting voted out, maybe even being drug out into the streets for their short sightedness.

Stock up on extra dry carbs. Stock up on canned goods. Plant a vegetable garden if you can, and keep your powder dry.

… As long as we don’t see a lot of empty shelves , we don’t run dry at the pump and they don’t let the alcohol run out in stores , there won’t be too much unrest . Any of those things happen at once and there’s going to be big trouble .

I saw a quote somewhere that civilization is only three days without food away from chaos.
I NEVER thought I would see a day in America in which a mom had to not feed her infant because she couldn’t find formula. Shameful beyond measure

Remember July, August is close to November. A little trouble will be part of the formula.

Absolutely. I flipped out when every damn governor across the U.S. started shutting down their states. How damn stupid.
And here in Alabama, we are actually RE-ELECTING our RINO Governor Kay Ivey even though she kept extending the mandates way past any reasonable end date. But hey, she puts out an ad holding a gun and criticizing Democrats and suddenly all is forgiven me she is a conservative in good standing again 🙄

The party apologists will come along and defend any and all of them saying it's better than the other side. Cant imagine how much worse it would be with them. Instead of worrying about how much worse it could be, we should be pushing "our" side to actually be better.

In Alabama, there is really no danger of a Dem winning the governorship. The Republican Primary is the de facto election and we couldn’t even get enough votes to force a run off. So now that she is safely back in office, „Granny Ivey“ can return to playing footsie with the left.

So we are accepting the no compromise stance now?

Umm yes, emphatically. Every cataclysmic event in World history has its roots in poverty and desperation whether it’s the plague all the way to the World Wars.

Tell that to Doug Jones

What happened to alternative fuels?
If the gov. had not paid farmers to destroy crops last year, maybe there wouldn't be a food shortage. Paying people not to work didn't help things either. Also, Does anyone remember shortages while the pandemic was going on..??
