Countdown until basketball

I'm not convinced that the Wisconsin game is only available on Peacock. The UTSports site is the only place I can find that says it's on Peacock; even the SEC website does not have a network/streaming service listed at this time. Plus it's not uncommon for this to not be finalized until just a few days before the game.

I'm not saying it will def be available elsewhere, but I am saying it may be. I would be surprised if Peacock is truly the exclusive provider.

Just for reference, they were the only provider for the Ohio State-Purdue football game last Saturday, unfortunately.

I thought that there’s a possibility that the Wisconsin game might be on a basic channel, but it is a Friday night and the start time is already determined. Plus Peacock is an NBC property and they don’t have nearly as many sports channel options as ESPN/ABC, Fox, or even CBS/CBS-SN. I have a feeling that they grabbed the broadcast rights in order to build up their subscription base. And the Big 10 is affiliated primarily with Fox.

If you frequently use streaming apps, Peacock is with it for the $5, IMO. They have live college sports weekly and multiple Premier League soccer games each match week. Also have a great TV and movie library.

Trying to caught up on the basketball side since that time is upon us. Is the MSU scrimmage next Sunday 10/29? If it is, will it be streamed or something we can pay for to watch it? Just remember the Gonzaga game being on Pay-per-view and you could stream it. I know that game is for Maui efforts, but don’t know much else about it.

It’s posted on UT’s website as being on the Big 10 Network.

I know expectations are high for this years team, but I'm trying to temper my enthusiasm and expectations. So many new faces and uncertainty with ZZ. I just can't let myself start thinking this team is going to break through our ceiling. Watched the exhibitions, but it's really hard to take a lot from those because of the competition level. I'm in a wait and see mode. Given the schedule we won't have to wait long to get a good feel for this years team.

Go VOLS!!!!
Can't get her fast enough. I need to see some points from this club this year. The football team has got me ready for basketball to get here. November is a great month. Got football finishing up and you have basketball starting up. Plenty of sports to watch.

(Exhibition) GAME DAY!
It was technically an exhibition game. Reality was that it was intense like a late season, big game. MSU's home gym was loud and rowdy, and make no mistake, both Barnes and Izzo coached to win and the players were as competitive as they would be in a EE or FF showdown. As tough a road environment as we will see all year. Great win for the Vols!

The players were playing as if it counted, but CRB would have done a lot differently if it was a game that counted. Particularly the time out that he took with 4 minutes left. I think that he called it to give the team experience running a set play out of a TO in front of a rowdy crowd. He certainly didn’t call it to quiet the crowd or to try stopping an opponents run (the stats are that TOs don’t historically favor a team calling the TO anyway).

Yes, I agree, based on his coaching history. More than likely. I wouldn't be surprised though if Barnes can't evolve a bit. This is a much different group than he's normally fielded at TENNESSEE. At Texas, he had a number of teams with multiple NBA talent on his rosters. Lots of guys who have played lots of years in the NBA. He MIGHT adjust the timing of timeouts accordingly. I really don't give a damn either way. He can coach here as long as he f'ing likes

I think that it will depend on who’s on the floor. If there are a lot of upperclassmen in the game he’ll save his TOs. But with ZZ, Santi, JJJ, Knecht, and Mashack he’ll let them play through the bad spells.
