Country music thread

They are so interesting to me. I don’t know that any song of theirs would crack my top 50. Probably further down than that honestly, but they just sound great and I do relate to the lyrics. Always a fun listen.
Steak night is one of my favorite songs of all time. The word play on “fool around” is fun too lol

Beaches of Biloxi and Brother are high end tunes. I think their appeal is based on their roots as a house band in Austin, they're easy to listen to and tap your feet while having a beer or ten, and they bring in the right amount of depth and wit

I don’t love you is there best tune by far imo. Last Time is probably my second favorite.

Beaches is great, as is Steak Night. But I agree with TP, easy to listen to and they make the many miles I put on the road each day easier because its toe tapping music and even the witty songs (Road crew, wedding band, etc) seem authentic to them.

The lack of Robert Earl Keen love in here is both surprising and disappointing.

Also, @Toujours Pret did you ever get tickets for RTR Saturday night? I’ve unfortunately run into some depressing and disappointing news for next weekend

You not going to be able to make it?

And REK’s touring retirement is sad

I did get RTR tickets.
Sucks about Robert Earl, though I see his point in getting off the road while he still enjoys it.

Unfortunately will not be able to make it after all, which is just effin gutting to me. I was looking forward to this before I knew either of the openers, then was absolutely out of my mind when I found out Zach was one opener and a guy I’ve actually met and hung out with before was going to be the other!

Alas, being a husband and dad came back to bite me in this particular instance. Family trip that was supposed to happen back in November but got rescheduled to next week instead. Wasn’t a big deal until I found out the flight on Sunday was changed from the original afternoon departure time to 6 am instead. If I went to Raleigh I’d basically have to leave after the show, drive 3 hours home to get my family and then head straight to the airport. Needless to say I’d probably be divorced before I made it across the VA line if I said I planned to try that one.

Well that stinks. But you’ve got your priorities in the right order

I’ve always liked REK but I’ve just now started actually listening to him often. “Love’s a word” is probably my favorite song I’ve heard so far.

My favorite Robert Earl is probably the Front Porch Song. Feelin' Good Again is there too.

Almost sprung for Friday RTTR since there's still box office tickets available but luckily Household-6 reminded me that we have furniture coming that day. If Grand shows up at 10am I still may consider it.

Otherwise we'll head on over Saturday morning and sight see on the way

You took the first two that came to mind so I’d add:
Corpus Christi Bay
Sonora’s Death Row
I’m Coming Home
Gringo Honeymoon

Of all of the people who formed the "modern" texas/red dirt by idolizing REK, Dub Miller gets no respect. Insanity and Texas and Paying the Fiddler are a few of my all timers

Some decent snow squalls coming over the mountains but we're in the way over. Looks like the first 2 nights have been wild, I'm thinking the 3 day ticket next year

They have such a huge catalog its hard to tell, but I'm sure it'll be badass.

If you see a fat guy in a Reckless shirt and ETSU hat it's probably me!
I’m in a navy long sleeved shirt. You going to be downstairs or upstairs? The line is already growing at the door and I’m not sure I’m ready to stand in it
