Country music thread

We were straight away in the back on the front row, but we went down on the floor halfway through. Glad you enjoyed it!
We tried to act like we belonged on the floor but they were on guard all night, we got down to about the 3rd row.

I may be too old to get home at 115 then work then hit another show tonight but we're damned sure gonna try

We were second row on the floor, right in front of Nixie.

They sounded incredible to me. I’ve read a lot of fans complain of the sound quality in arenas. They definitely brought everything in tight and ignored the far edges of the stage, but they sounded amazing. I could even pick out Felker’s strumming along. Engleman looked like he was the happiest person in all of Knoxville all night.

They also seemingly broke their 1 hour 30 minute show rule. I wonder if it was planned. Long Hot Summer Day seemed like the closer, but it looked as if Evan was willing to play Long Drive and then agreed to go one more with Pay No Rent. Just a great show imo

I liked Usrey, and Elle King was something. Pretty sure she had enjoyed herself before her set even started. She took her sunglasses off at one point and you could definitely see she resembles her father. It’s wild that an artist with multi Grammy nominations opened for Turnpike.

And, most importantly, I got to hear 1968. I don’t think Turnpike could make a bad set list, by any means, but last nights set was a lot different than I’ve seen before

1968
KC Southern
Shreveport
Whole D*** Town

Were all great treats to hear and see live

Was surprised they didn't play a CITR song til past the halfway point. And yes I did lose my **** when they broke out Shreveport

From set lists I’ve seen and the show in Cary, that’s the status quo for CITR so far. They play Chipping Mill, Mean Old Sun, and Brought Me in that order. Then move on with the show

He has a beard so he must be good.

But seriously, not many people alive you can see the night after Turnpike and say "Holy Crap this is amazing". Shane is one of them.

Banger.

And Flatland isn't really legitimate on my list. Though I enjoy them, Spotify shoved them down my throat to where I had to mute them for a few months.
I know I bailed on you in Asheville, but Charlotte is 45 minutes closer. I’m probably going to Moonpies there Tuesday night.

I would say this is fairly accurate. I listened to a lot of Jimmy Buffett after his death (same day as my mom) and I’m surprised he didn't make the list. Same for Charlie.

All good man, thanks for checking in. Been really busy at work but then throw on top of that a household of sick family members for what feels like at least a solid month.
Oh yeah, and on top of that my Spotify list this year was completely shot to **** bc one of the things keeping me busy at work is studying for a certification exam and I play Jazz while I’m studying. Pretty sure Miles Davis had every single spot in my top 5 songs of the year.

May be sounding like a curmudgeon, but I can't tell if we messed up venues and came to tryouts for Teen Mom, or a 49 Winchester show. These kids are getting a bit rowdy and it's not even showtime

I had never heard of Sam Barber before we saw him last night, evidently I live under a rock.

Not really my cup of tea, talented kid though..
