Country music thread

There will never be a performer or entertainer like Garth ever. Nobody has done what he's done. Nobody is close.

One could argue George Straight got in that league, but he has a different presentation style. I'll agree Garth is nutso on the presentation.

So, the make my self feel better after today’s coaching whirlwind, I just purchased cody Johnson tickets. Can’t wait

I've tried to put my bias aside and pick a different song, but Alan Jackson's "The Older I Get" is the best song this year.

Miranda's "Tin Man" is my number two. Watson's "Texas Lullaby" is number three.

If We Were Vampires - Isbell
Feathered Indians - Tyler Childers
Tin Man - Miranda

IMO

And Miranda could sing about taking selfies with her dad and I'd like it.

The Queen of Oak Ridge says I can bang Miranda if she can do Casey Donahew.

I said no since her chances are infinitely higher.

Turnpike Troubadours - Pay No Rent - 10/26/2017 - Paste Studios, New York, NY - YouTube

Come the F on, Bill!

Disclaimer : Stapleton's voice grinds my gears. I know he's great, but his style and mine just don't mesh.

Pay No Rent is everything I look for in a country song. The fiddle, misplaced love and raw. It’s great. Truth be told after my first two album listens, I latched onto “Something to Hold Onto”, but I think you’re right, Pay No Rent is probably the best on the album.

That said, and I’ve mentioned it before, when Miranda sings raw and from the heart, it’s deeply powerful. I love it. Tin Man is phenomenal and she got a broken hearted song on country radio.

The chorus of Jackson’s title track is phenomenal and the hook is even better. That fiddle sound is gorgeous. And it’s Alan freaking Jackson. The lyrics aren’t smooth, but they’re deep and moving. “The older I get, the longer I pray. I don’t know why, I guess that I’ve got more to say. And the older I get, the more thankful I feel for the life I’ve had and the life I’m living still...”

And every road trip I make I find myself listening to Texas Lullabye.

And Miranda showcased a steel guitar in her CMA performance this year. I got weak in the knees.
