Let me say, colter uses no effects whatsoever. When he talks he sounds almost just like when he sings.Yeah, I don't like the vocals and the effects he seems to use to mask his voice. Don't really care for the subject matter either.
I think ideologically, in the "real country" realm, I lean more toward the folk side than the outlaw side. I guess that's why guys like Wall, Jinks, Morgan, etc. don't do it for me.
Love the song. It's so funny - this song was Stapleton's first attempt to go solo/mainstream and he didn't pick up any traction. Now he's the biggest name in country music.
Anyone have any recommendations for old-timey country? I like the older stuff like The Carter Family, Bob Wills, Hank Snow, Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, early Johnny Cash, etc
Ironically, its my favorite Stapleton song. Havent listened to all of From a Room 2 yet, but what I have listened to is as disappointing as 1.
