Coup Attempt Against Joe Biden

Trump and JD Vance accuse Dems of leading ‘coup’ against Biden, call to ‘invoke the 25th Amendment’

Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, slammed the Democratic Party for leading a “coup” against President Biden — with the Ohio senator saying that if Biden isn’t fit to run for president, he shouldn’t be able to serve the rest of his term.

Look I'm ok with Joe remaining as puppet " if he's still with us" Not sure what the repubs think they'll gain with the 25th?
I don't like the idea of appointing Harris as prez. Do we really want her name in American History as prez, even if it's only temporary.

Top Dems Threatened to Forcibly Remove Biden from office Unless he dropped out, Set Him Up To Fail At Trump Debate: Sources

Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.

The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.

The insider also made clear the anger, paranoia and frustration Biden displayed as the party elite circled around him and piled on the pressure.

“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” the source said Monday.

New York Times Columnist Maureen Dowd on Biden Ouster: ‘A Coup Is Still a Coup’

Maureen Dowd, columnist for the New York Times, penned a tongue-in-cheek op-ed knocking the Democrats for all their talk about democracy after their “coup” against President Joe Biden.

“It wasn’t exactly ‘Julius Caesar’ in Rehoboth Beach. But it was a tectonic shift and, of course, there were going to be serious reverberations. Even though it was the right thing to do, because Joe Biden was not going to be able to campaign, much less serve as president for another four years, in a fully vital way, it was a jaw-dropping putsch,” she wrote.

It in no way meets the definition of a coup.

Coup : a sudden, violent and unlawful seizure of power.

It was none of those things.

The first debate was moved up to June, because Democrats were anticipating a poor performance by Biden, and they wanted time to replace him before the convention. It was a mistake for the Trump Campaign to agree to that. It would have been much messier for Democrats to push Biden aside without his comatose showing in the debate. It had been speculated for months that Biden would be replaced as the nominee of the Democratic Party, so it wasn't "sudden."

What was the act of violence involved? There wasn't any.

It was not an unlawful seizure of power either. For one thing, Biden is still President. Power was not taken away from him. Also, he was never the 2024 Democratic Party nominee for President. He was only the presumptive nominee. The Democratic National Convention hasn't even been held yet, and it's been a month since Biden backed out. Although it's clear that Biden was pressured to step aside, the fact will remain that he announced it as being his decision, and then immediately endorsed Kamala Harris. Regardless of what the truth is, if Biden says it was his decision, made of his own free will, how do you argue with him? You can't.

Finally, there is no shortage of irony to Republicans whining about Biden's victory in the primary not being respected, after the alternate elector scheme that Trump tried to pull following the general ... which actually did lead to acts of violence.

For this to be true, there are a few inconvenient truths happening simultaneously.

1. Democrats planned a maneuver to oust Biden while at the same time exalting his ability and fitness.
2. Democrats showed Americans Biden isn't capable of campaigning and yet they, by omission, have concluded he is still capable of leading the country.
3. If Biden made the choice, he also admits he isn't capable of campaigning but he is still capable of leading the country.

It's all such a joke.

1) That's called politics.
2) For another 5 months .... but I doubt he's really "leading" anything.
3) More like, he has agreed that there are too many questions regarding his fitness ... and since Trump must be defeated, he agreed that it was in everyone's best interest for him to end his campaign for President .... As a matter of fact, that is what he has even said.

Actually, that's called justification.

Please provide proof for these assertions.
Yesterday, you were asked for proof of yours. And now you ask for proof of another's.

soft coup, silent coup or a bloodless coup. Play semantics all you want but it was absolutely an unlawful seizure of power to remove a sitting potus. Unimaginable yet here we are with half the voting populace defending the move

How is it unlawful to convince a sitting president to not run for reelection?

Extortion using a threat of the 25th. I also don't believe he drafted the resignation letter and question whether he even knew about it when it was released. That would be treason imo
