And a bag boy or a cashier starts out at the same rate. How do you scale these? Then how do you scale that to the assistant store and store manager?

We aren’t talking about setting a scale, we’re talking about a floor. I’ve already stated that I think $15/hr is too much for a lot of the country and not enough for others.

There shouldn't be a minimum wage at all. If a company offers a job at $5/hr and gets no takers, then they up the ante until supply and demand curves intersect. Basic economics - maybe the only thing economists ever really got close to perfect.

Less than 2% of the working population make minimum wage. The majority of that is teenagers/tipped employees.

Well maybe there should be a different minimum wage for kids living at home. Originally iirc the min wage was intended just for that. But a big % of people of majority ( no I didn’t look up the actual #) earn minimum wage. What is the annualized income level of poverty in your state. Say $30,000? $30,000 /2080 hrs per year = $15/hr

So what happens when gainfully employed people make less than poverty level. They need public assistance. Then they hear from the same objectors to a higher minimum wage that they are low life pos living off the teat of society

The Dems will ALWAYS give as many people as they can "public assistance". No matter the wage.
