Drummond would be an absolute steal if our good guys get him. He's underrated, IMO. I had a good feeling about him in May at my blog's recruiting board (Rex can verify), because Drummond is friends with current Tennessee OT Ramone Johnson.

Still think he goes to Illinois, but we have time.

Sure did and I agree I think he's a zooker.

Drummond said there is no front-runner among his college choices and that he will make official visits after the season before making a decision.

"Getting scholarship offers makes me feel pretty good, that all the hard work is paying off,'' Drummond said. "I was always a basketball player until the 8th grade when I started playing football.

he debut of the Chicago-area's top uncommitted recruit will have to wait at least one more week.

Morgan Park's 6-foot-5-inch, 260-pound defensive end Craig Drummond will be watching from the Soldier Field sideline Saturday when his teammates confront No. 16 Brother Rice in the Kickoff Classic that also features No. 1 Mt. Carmel against Curie and Fenwick versus Lane Tech.

"It's a high-ankle sprain I injured in practice,'' Drummond said. "I know my team's got my back, and I'm hoping to return next week.''

What scares me is that UT will have a bunch of big time recruits in for the UF game. Moses, White, Oku, Logan thomas & some others I'm sure. What happens if there is a repeat of last year. As of right now that looks entirely possible. Could be even worse than last year if our offense can't get it together.

We hurt are chances of getting them tremendously. not only b/c we get blasted, but half the stadium will be empty by the start of the 4th quarter.

i really wouldn't call barely beating SC, Vandy, & Kentucky finishing well. Don't get me wrong i'll take it but we should be head and shoulders better than those teams.

Defensive end Craig Drummond (Chicago/Morgan Park) is one of the few top prospects in the Midwest yet to select a college. In all likelihood, that is not going to change anytime in the near future.

"I'm going to take my official visits," Drummond said. "I'm going to wait until after the [football] season to schedule them."

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Drummond, the No. 67 prospect in the ESPNU 150, is considering Illinois, Wisconsin, Miami, LSU and Tennessee.

"Those will be my five visits," Drummond said. "I'm looking at all of them. They are all equal."

Of the five, Drummond has made unofficial visits to Illinois and Wisconsin. He has never been to the other three schools.

Drummond has yet to play in a game this season. He sustained a high ankle sprain shortly before his team's first game and said his doctor has not yet released him to play. He hopes to be back in action within two weeks.

We seriously need to get this guy on campus.
