They sound like our most critical message board posters regarding their skepticism of Joe getting it done at Bama. They have been on that bandwagon about Joe all season, though, so they are consistent. They watched him more at Michigan than most reporters imo. If there was ever a TN player I wish could serve up a dish of crow, it is Joe. I've doubted him for sure. I think even Josh has. The game is bigger than one player, and I don't want to see him benched nor do I think it is good for a 5-1 team for him to be benched, but I also don't care how we win. I want to see this team break the streak for good.

I've noticed when I see talking heads recap the game it's all A&M and then barely talks about Tenn and its "yeah they won but Joe sucks".
I wait for him to assemble a complete game and prove some people right and others wrong. I don't think that is Joe though and it become an easy talking point for many. I have accepted his pros and cons I just wish we could reduce the cons by getting receivers to step up. I also would like to see him run more. He runs well when committed.

When committed, he runs angry.

It’s become obvious by now that in many situations, Joe doesn’t have a good QB IQ.
But in his defense, in spite of being a 5th year senior, he only has the collective experience of a late year freshman. I think he can still improve quite a bit, and barring injury, he will not be replaced by Nico. I believe if we had to throw a backup QB to the wolves in a tenuous situation, we should play Gaston Moore. Ok, start yelling at me…

Wasn’t the hit by Joe on A&M’s star defensive back what knocked said back out of the game? Seems like when Joe wants to hit, he can hit pretty hard. He trucked at least two D-backs in the A&M game - yes, after he ran out of bounds on 4th and 2. That’s where the head scratching starts. He would have easily gotten the 2 yards if he just ran over the D-backs on that play, but he stepped out? No clue…. GBO

That run-out made me jump off the couch and yell "WTF are you doing?". Which wasn't a bad thing utill I came back to reality and remembered I was watching the game with my 85yo dad and mom was in earshot. Lol

None of the internet podcast football outlets are going to pick Tennessee this weekend. No one. Not these guys, not On3, not Joel Klatt, not Cubelic, not Late Kick, not a one. They will all pick Alabama. As will traditional media. The Gameday crew will all pick Alabama. SEC Nation will all pick Alabama. The Deion Sanders - excuse me, Big Noon Kickoff - show will also pick Alabama. They will all pick Alabama.

It's up to Tennessee to go down there and prove them wrong. It's up to Joe Milton to go down there and prove them wrong. That's all there is to it.

Joe gotta punched in the mouth while delivering a perfect strike to Keyton who dropped it. We still got the personal foul and 15 yards but that’s the play in my mind that kinda flipped the switch for Joe in his running attack.

He threw an awful inexcusable high school level pick in the endzone but if you looked at his body langauage, he owned it and told all of his guys he was gonna make it up to them. They ended up moving the ball fairly well after that. I think he has an underdog mentality and plays better when doubted.

Hope he learned from the swamp. Bama is gonna load the box like Florida so he’s either gonna have to throw with pinpoint accuracy, find a way to improvise and make some escape plays, or suffer the same swamp fate.

I have always been a supporter until this past game but it will take a passing game to beat AL and I am not confident he can get that done. But I would love to be eating crow for dinner Sat. night.
We are not favored for some reason. It’s probably only home-field advantage.

Is it really "proving some people wrong", if your starting QB doesn't put together a complete game until the 7th or later game in their 5th season as a college QB?

Fair question. I guess proving to people he can have a complete game is one aspect I am referring to. That he benefits our team and is not a deficit is another. I try not to contribute to vilifying Joe, but I respect the questions of his play and the measurement of his contributions on the whole.

The reality is that he isn't as bad, or as good as people like to post one way or the other.

Compared to his peers, at the moment he's a middling Division I QB, who sits somewhere in the bottom half of the SEC.

Unless there's a monumental shift in his performance, which is highly unlikely at this point in his college career, then he'll most likely be in the same position at the end of the season.

I just wish they would talk about how awesome the run game and defense is more instead of focusing so much on Joe.

He is no Hooker, but our receivers are not helping him at all, not to mention we are behind the sticks all the time due to stupid penalties like jumping offsides.

Thing about is that Florida really didn't load the box. They stopped our running game with 6 in the box for most of that game. Florida was the one game where our running game didn't show up.

I’m hoping Milton has a second half to this season the same way Crompton came on in the second half of 2009. He was also a Senior. I think the ability is there, we are just all waiting for him to put it all together. I hope it’s this weekend.
