It’s become obvious by now that in many situations, Joe doesn’t have a good QB IQ.
But in his defense, in spite of being a 5th year senior, he only has the collective experience of a late year freshman. I think he can still improve quite a bit, and barring injury, he will not be replaced by Nico. I believe if we had to throw a backup QB to the wolves in a tenuous situation, we should play Gaston Moore. Ok, start yelling at me…

Stop making excuses for him. He’s a 6th year senior that has been mentored by the greatest qb coach in cfb for 3 years now. He played a bunch last year and played several games his first seasons. He also started at various points during his first 2 years at Michigan. There’s no excuse for him to have such a low qb iq.
He doesn’t only have the experience as a freshman. There are guys that have to wait 3+ years to wait all the time. They are getting extensive college experience going through a season with all the practices and scrimmages plus coming in late in games etc.

He is the primary reason for them playing subpar.

He throws off the whole rhythm in an offense HEAVILY dependent on rhythm.
