I'm going to say that assuming Cut stays, Crompton will be the cream of the NCAA in two years... but that's useless to us right now... we need Ainge RIGHT NOW! If Ainge is healthy for the last two games, we win. But if we have Crompton, we split them... maybe.

we cant count on our coaches to have anyone ready to play, they absolutely had no answer for anything the pigs did, Fulmer looked clueless on the sideline clapping his hands

f1ip- I don't think he is the reason we lost. I agree that AR would have beat us on our best day. I just think Crompton looks like AJ out there.....lost and confussed. If I was a big time recruit at WR or OL and my choices of players to play with are Stafford, Tebow, Mustain, Periloux (sp) or Crompton.......I would put Crompton at the bottom of that list.

yeah, because stafford has had no rough games this year. give me a break. he finally had his first good game yesterday vs. auburn. mustain . . . he isn't even getting the starting nod from his coach. come on. sometimes our fans are so myopic.

That is funny. I guess the only Stafford outing you have watched was the game against Auburn. Tebow does nothing that would make any WR want to play with him and Mustain threw the ball maybe 10 times a game while he was the starter. Definitely makes a big time WR want to play in those systems.

While Crompton didn't play last night, he's not the reason we lost. We would have lost with Ainge at the helm too I think.

We lost because we were manhandled on both side on the line, and that hurts. We have some serious issues to address there.

Did you happen to notice that unlike all those other guys, it was the first game he's ever started and it was on the road in the SEC against what is about to be a top 10 team? Not saying he had a good night, but it's the first full game he's gotten.
John David Booty's first start was against Arkansas. How did he do?

I think Crompton is going to be great. Peyton would have looked bad with the blocking last night

It's too early to tell if Crompton's gonna' be great but one thing's for sure - that was the worst pass rush against UT I've seen all year. Nightmarish.

that is true, remember peyton in his first florida game, it was ugly.

Your thinking about Todd Helton. Peyton didn't play against FL his freshman year. His first start against the Gators was his sophomore year, and he played outstanding.

Crompton needed a lot of help last night from the players around him. It was a point where you expect seniors and experienced players around him to step up. That didn't happen.

I was saying this last week that people shouldnt proclaim Crompton as the 2nd coming just yet. Take away his two bombs from Lsu (that Meachem made great plays on) and you pretty much have the same game you saw against arkansas. It is extremely difficult to have your first two games against Lsu and this year's Ark team. That said, he seemed unsure at times, lost at times, and had some ugly throws. I found a couple of things distressing...

1. Our o-line was getting schooled all game.

2. Please dont throw to Chris Browm anymore. He shouldnt even be called a TE because he isnt big enough, and for a catching option he was awful.

3. Our wr's got destroyed. They were getting pushed around, which I really dont get considering how big they are. Almost like they quit.

4. Once Ark's coaches realized to run up the middle, it was over. Just a lack of talent there. Even if we did have Harrell, who would have been the other DT? The walkon, or the undersized DE?

5. I thought all year that Wade was using his speed to compensate for mistakes. But when he couldnt use his speed against Monk, Monk burned him time and time again. I think thats where the game was lost. The few times we had them at 3rd and long, they went to Monk just like everyone in the stadium knew. And yet we (Wade) couldnt cover him. And twice he came WIDE open...how do we not have someone on him at all times??? He was by far their best receiver...f'n cover him!

6. Someone else tell me if they noticed this...Crompton's throwing motion. It looked like on several throws almost like he was throwing sidearm-ish. Like a shotput. His balls seemed to be coming out really low, like line drives. I dont remember him throwing like that against Lsu.

What's up with that? Why are we not using either Cottam? You'd think that a 6'8 tight end would make a nice target for a freshman QB to throw to.

The announcers said something about Cottam being Tennessee's best kept secret. I can see why, we only throw the ball to him once every 2 games...:ermm:

Cottam has had several dropped passes this season. I'd be willing to bet he has more drops than catches. Actually, I think he had one against Arkansas.
