The NCAA rule is 25 to enroll per class. This does not count any back counts.
The SEC rule is 28 per class. This counts back counts. So we should always enroll @ least 22 as long as we don't go over the 85 limit.
Tennessee has two back counts from last year. So, we can enroll 27 with this class.
This is NOT correct. This topic was discussed ad nauseum last Sept. & this was posted by LV back then:

No. Hubbs said this:
I had been led to believe by some coaches, administrators and league officials that the max number that a school could sign was 28 period, but apparently that is not how that policy was finalized. You can only sign 28, but that does not count guys you back count from the previous year. Which means you can sign more than 28.
So if we only enroll 17 this year, instead of 25 + 2 (back count from 2009) = 27, then we could enroll 25 + 10 = 35 next year, provided we have 10 EE's. And we could sign 28 + 10 = 38 as long as we place 3 in juco. All without going over 85 schollys total.
Clear as mud?
