Head coaches at ALL schools are limited in the time they focus on any given day or practice. They usually evaluate what is going on. Bear Bryant stayed in a tower so he could see more and evaluate the whole team. Hence the title HEAD coach and not POSITION coach or coodinator.

Yep, true. I think a lot of people envision a good HC as someone who sits on the sideline with a remote control, kind of like Spurrier. But that is a very rare thing.

I don't mean this curtly, but I've been around enough to have a pretty good idea what game preperation entails. If the show was about a coach who I found interesting, I might watch it. Otherwise, I'm not much on spending two hours of my life to confirm what I already know. Being a head coach is a tough, grueling job. I've never said otherwise.

Good news for you, it's only an hour. But it is your loss because it is not an expose on CPF. Not by a long shot. It is about UT and the TEAM.

The problem is that most people's perceptions of Head Coaches comes from cutaway shots that they see on TV.

I just watched the show tonight and really enjoyed, if nothing else, seeing the practice facilities and the "war rooms." I have also decided that if I could have Johnny Long stop by my gym for an hour or so every evening, I'd be SCARY by spring.

Oh, and I've got to have me one of them desks.

After watching the show..I feel our coaching staff is re-committed and on the right track. All we need now, is to re-focus on recruiting, and we will be playing for a National Championship! I have a new respect for Coach Fulmer....I think Cutcliff has rejuvinated the whole coaching staff.....And I do agree with the person that said we need a special teams coach...that looked like the weakest link on TV..not as crisp and organized as the other aspects of the game. Just my 2 cents.:victory:

Well seeing how in the USAF game we lost a couple of onside kicks I would say you were spot on.
