I'm really not claiming to know anything. You could be right that he just wants another hat on the table. But like you mentioned UT is now one of 3 but not really a true contender?I'm going off the 5 teams he posted logos of earlier this week and we weren't included.
His class is basically the kid from East STL. If you're from there and determined to stay close enough for mama to be able to drive to see you play... you don't have a lot of options.Drinkwitz probably wants to milk this for all it’s worth because he ain’t getting any guys over us for a long time after this.
Trust me, I have my fingers crossed on this one. Honestly, nothing would surprise me after RG pulled Tyre West. While it seems like a pipe dream, RG could land M'ba and Verse. We're just not accustomed to getting pretty, shiny things.I'm really not claiming to know anything. You could be right that he just wants another hat on the table. Kids always have their own reasons for choosing a school and sometimes they come way out of left field.
I got to spend time with Coach (Rodney) Garner and learn about how he develops players. He has a good track record, but what I was looking to see was how I would fit in with them. For me, you can be the best coach in the world, but if I don't fit in with you, I am never going to be able to be what people expect me to be. That was an important thing to me to really focus on during the visit. For some reason tweets aren't showing on my browser. Any chance you can type it out?
Reading the quote, he doesn’t say he doesn’t fit. He said fit is one thing he’s looking for during his visitBarring character issues, I'd take this kid in a heartbeat. I think he has the talent to be a special player. But if he doesn't want to put in the work, he'll never live up to his potential. I'm not sure what he meant when talking about "fit", but I'm left to believe he's not feeling Tennessee. If I had to guess, I think Auburn, but who knows, maybe Mizzou pulls him? Or he could just shock everyone and pick us. But I doubt it.
Nowhere in that quote does he say or even really suggest that he wasn't a fit... only that was the thing he was focused on. And since I would even say that is a good sign since UT emphasizes "fit" with every recruit. He was repeating the message they gave him.I got to spend time with Coach (Rodney) Garner and learn about how he develops players. My assumption is that the conclusion came from his blog, which directly proceeded in-home visits from Mizzou and Auburn, but none from UT coaches following his official visit. It's possible that his words were taken out of context, but it was odd that UT wouldn't do an in-home during their last week on the road recruiting. 2+2 usually =4. Have you seen Price, Hubbs, or anyone else mention us as a possibility before his announcement tomorrow? I hope things were misinterpreted, but it doesn't seem likely. I question how likely it is that he commits to a school that his mom didn't get to see or interact with the coaches. That's why I'm guessing Mizzou. That's the only school that mom saw other than us because Cristobal dipped the day before they were going to visit Oregon. I hope mom put us back in the conversation.Nowhere in that quote does he say or even really suggest that he wasn't a fit... only that was the thing he was focused on. Or was that just people misinterpreting his quote here??
Was told he told TN he just didn’t feel like he fit in here. Fwiw

That’s exactly how I read it as well. Unless the previous paragraph before this (I haven’t read the article) specifically mentions “fitting in”, I don’t see why he’d feel inclined to mention it. The whole tone reads “TN is out and here’s why”. But we’ll see. Many didn’t have Pearce on their radar until ESD, so maybe this will be another big surprise. For me, it's the fact he even mentions "fit". Like he's explaining why he's not going to pick Tennessee (and Garner). But we'll see.
