Cuban/Mavericks Stop Playing National Anthem

I dont disagree with this, but there is a war being waged against this country and the ones waging it are loving actions like this.

There are organized groups added by the media who have an anti American agenda. I acknowledge that reality.
But they can never take away anyone's pride. Would any of us be less of an American without an anthem? Is it the flag where our pride is found? If I lived in another country without any symbols of America, my pride as an American would not diminish.
They can remove the anthem before a basketball game. They can take down Old Glory from the pole. And they will feel like they are winning their "war". But they can never win a war against my heart and my spirit.

Maybe not yours, but others.

That didn't explain why it's offensive. Shrug it off and move along

How many anthems at NBA games has the op actually experienced? I'm guessing it's south of 1

No need to shrug it off, calling it out for what it is.

I've never been to a NBA game. If they had never played the anthem, wouldnt care. But they have and thus this is a decision to side with the people that believe the US is the problem.

So what activities require the anthem to be played? Do they play it before the us open? Masters? Rec softball? Just want to make sure which anti-american activity needs to be exposed
I didn’t say anything about requiring the national anthem. This question doesn’t follow

You're reaching.

There isnt some ground swell to have it in everyone's face at all times, to assert so is dishonest.

There are places that is has been routine. Routines are changed for a reason.

Actually the DoD paid to have it more in people's faces during pro sports. It was capitalistic patriotism

This topic really has become an odd hill to die on. The anthem wasn’t played at sporting events until more recent times. But... then they started playing it. And they embraced the DoD advertising budget for recruiting. And now that they are playing it, it’s become divisive and a sleight to not respond in the proscribed manner during playing it. Honestly I’m at the point that if people, especially overpaid prima Dona athletes, are going to use it as a platform to act out then just don’t play it. It’s become the realization of the joke phrase “this is why we cannot have nice things”. And likewise don’t take the DoD advertising money. It’s consistency or hypocrisy.

Cuban actually has a lot of outreach to first responders and veterans with multiple programs to serve each including free game tickets. I didn’t read the article but I’d guess it’s more driven by if it’s going to be used as a divisive item then just remove it. Cuban is normally fairly pragmatic. Sure he’s done things impulsively he’s pretty passionate about the Mavs but he’s got a fairly level head most of the time.

That addresses nothing. You believe the Mavs have unpaid anthem invoices and so are cutting off.

No. They are making their choice in what is going on in this nation.

I've never understood why some need to hear the national anthem before a sports game. If it takes an average rendition of the star spangled banner before a bunch of sweaty dudes get all up on one another to evoke a sense of patriotism well I guess it says a lot about the kinda stuff that gets you feeling all warm and fuzzy.

really? Sure, let's just erase all sense/indication of our pride in being Americans. Apparently we should be ashamed of that fact.

As a white male that served in the military, maybe I should just kill myself to show how woke I am and how much feelz I have towards others.

The culture marxists have equated being proud of ones country to being a racist. They've beaten this drum so much people are believing it.. the same people call you a racist for just being white. So there is no winning. As i say critical race theory, white fragility only destroys, it doesn't build up.

Another good example of a sucker being fooled by the cultural marxists

I don’t like the Vols running through the T as I see it as divisive ..... and Rocky Top disparages white mountain people.

This is a dumb comparison because it's not something that actually divides people. This forum is full of you and your cohorts losing your minds over flag etiquette. Get rid of the problem and hopefully the division goes away.
