This is a dumb comparison because it's not something that actually divides people. This forum is full of you and your cohorts losing your minds over flag etiquette. Get rid of the problem and hopefully the division goes away.
You think the division will go away? You understand for decades we've acknowledged our country, but suddenly now, (because of a bunch marxist that pretend to be offended by all things American) it's racists and caused the division. It's a small voice, who has a large backing, is causing this.
Would removing the American flag unite us? You're a fool if you believe marxists want unity.

The NBA players are some of the least marxist people on the planet. Literally, not one has advocated government ownership of the means of production. Most are highly supportive of ownership of guns. The are protesting an injustice, be it real or perceived. You, however, jump on here and name call based upon a peaceful protest. Not one lick of violence has been caused by those players kneeling.
You simply use buzzword like marxist which you clearly do not understand. Put together a coherent argument.
First article on DuckDuckGoYou keep saying that, but still haven't provided a link to said DoD paying to have it played in people's faces...
This topic really has become an odd hill to die on. The anthem wasn’t played at sporting events until more recent times. But... then they started playing it. And they embraced the DoD advertising budget for recruiting. And now that they are playing it, it’s become divisive and a sleight to not respond in the proscribed manner during playing it. Honestly I’m at the point that if people, especially overpaid prima Dona athletes, are going to use it as a platform to act out then just don’t play it. It’s become the realization of the joke phrase “this is why we cannot have nice things”. And likewise don’t take the DoD advertising money. It’s consistency or hypocrisy.
Cuban actually has a lot of outreach to first responders and veterans with multiple programs to serve each including free game tickets. I didn’t read the article but I’d guess it’s more driven by if it’s going to be used as a divisive item then just remove it. Cuban is normally fairly pragmatic. Sure he’s done things impulsively he’s pretty passionate about the Mavs but he’s got a fairly level head most of the time.
