uh first of all that is false. I can let my wife log in and she can tell you how wrong that is since she shops at both every weekend
Maybe it's changed, but we used to shop at both as well when lived closer to a TJ's. And we always made notes of the things not to get at TJ's because they were cheaper at Aldi.

They have almost anything you can get at Trader Joe's at Aldi. It might be under a different name or different branding, but they do.
The original owners of each were brother and they market a little differently, but they do have contractual ties and share the supply chain so to speak so it stands to reason they offer many of the same products under different brands.

Considering TJ is in the Aldi framework of sorts, I'd think the prices are reasonable. Maybe it's a slightly upscale Aldi. Each brother going after a niche, but not spiling the concept. It'd be nice to have one close to visit. We'd probably have to go to K'ville or Nashville or Chatt. Cookeville is probably large enough and affluent enough to support one.
it's different niches.

Since Aldi and Trader Joe's have a lot in common, people are curious to know if Aldi owns Trader Joe's, if Trader Joe's owns Aldi, or if the companies are owned by the same corporation. It's important to fact-check upfront that Aldi does not own Trader Joe's. In turn, Trader Joe's doesn't own Aldi either.May 17, 2022

One thing I discovered at Aldi, not because no one else had it but because I finally decided to try it, was goat cheese. OMG! Plain, honey or with the berries. That's some seriously good cheese. Especially on an heirloom tomato tart.

In Germany, where both are based, they are independently owned Aldi, eached founded by a brother cause they had slightly different vidions. In Germany, one operates as Aldi Nord (named Trader Joe's in the US), and the other as Aldi SUD, simply known as Aldi in the US. They are not tied together in ownership or finances, but do share contracts involving supply chains. Each chases a slightly different niche but shares purchasing power through their business contracts.

Thanks for playing...Try again.

Aldi Nord is Trader Joe's in the US. Both Aldi operate in the US, and only one can be Aldi here.

I don't care either way and wasn't arguing, but...

Right but I was referring to the two German Aldi brands. In Germany there are two Aldi brands founded by TWO brothers. In the US, those two Aldi are Aldi and Trader Joe's. Aldi Nord owns and operates TJ's in the US. Aldi Sud owns and operates Aldi in the US. The brothers only mix the two on joint contracts for product purchasing and a few other things.

Mine was $430. I've seen people on Nextdoor saying $700+. They must live in a 5000 sq ft house.
