Couple of things. Unless you like pine tar, stay away from Mesquite. I use their Hickory mostly and used to mix Hickory and Oak. I have found another brand or two of pellets that are actually a Hickory and Oak mix. Haven't tried any of the others but pellets made for a pellet grill will all work in the Traeger so don't limit yourself to just what is on the shelf at Lowe's or wherever.
