Hey
@Behr ! Good to hear from you!
Yeah, I still check out VolNation regularly, just don't post much. I figure there are already enough un-original ideas being posted w/out adding my ramblings to it.
We have 3 dogs now. All 4 of those in the picture above have passed on, but they all lived a great life into old age and that's the best you can ask for.
Now we have a rescued pit bull (Staffordshire bull terrier) male, Buster, who is very special, reminds me of Petey from the Little Rascals as far as personality. Our other 2 dogs were purchased, long-haired Czech Shepperds I believe they were, but one of them is a rescue in the sense that she had so many health defects and deformities at birth that she might have been euthanized by a more responsible breeder, but this breeder sold her to us at top dollar, and it wasn't until her first visit to the vet that we discovered her situation, Tricuspid Valve Displasia, a condition of the heart that will likely result eventually in heart failure, as well as terrible hip displaisia. But she's a beloved member of the family and will receive the best of loving care until the time she can't carry on. Doc said he'd be surprised if she survived her first year, but she is now 3 years old and still going pretty strong. We named her Trudy in honor of ol' Charlie Daniels. My wife found the dog and really wanted that puppy, and it was a blessing that in the spur of the moment I decided that we should get her litter mate sister (Olive), since nobody had claimed her, because they have been together since birth and are so tight. Trudy is probably healthier because of trying to keep up with her sister in the yard, who is an athletic shepherd and in great health, so I believe that keeps Trudy in better shape than she would be if it was just her.
Anyway, good to hear from you. How about you? Got any dogs now? Still cooking (still my main hobby)? I'll post some dog pics below.

Trudy and her ottoman - she figured out that if she drapped over the ottoman like in the pic, she could take pressure off of her bad hips and get some relief, so she is frequently seen resting like that
Buster and the girls last Christmas - you can see how close the two girls are.
