WTF's post above reminded me that since all the kids will be out of town, Hubs and I are doing a non-turkey Thanksgiving. I'm thinking of doing a short rib-based ragu with pasta. There are plenty of online recipes, but do you have any suggestions for tweaks?

Not for the ragu, don't fix what ain't broke with a favorite ragu recipe. Try something different with the past. Like gnocchi.

I'm 50% Native American so I'm conflicted about a holiday partially based on a highly inaccurate, sanitized, and whitewashed story to cover up the atrocities, genocide, and forced deportation of millions of Natives.

And steak tastes much better than turkey.
No kidding, my grandpa on my mom's side was Indian. I know it's easy to tell looking at me🤣. He was a rough character though, and died when I was 3, so I don't know much about him. We might be closer cousins than I thought!🤣

Did you ever watch the movie Little Big Man made in the early seventies starring Dustin Hoffman and Chief Dan George? If not you should.
