We grabbed some longhorns this evening for dinner to go. There's just something I love about croutons from a restaurant with ranch dressing. I'm snacking on that right now.

@Behr or eerbody. I'm apparently late on this, and forgot until now. When I went to Kentucky for a day at Christmas, my sister had a can of carnation (cream milk) in the crockpot. She said it turns into caramel, but I thought she was full of crap. I googled it, and apparently it's true. Anybody ever done this?

I heard about that but it seems like I remember putting it in boiling water for a while, not in a crockpot.

We talked about that in the original Ask Behr thread back in the day. I told RockyTopCove about it and how to make a caramel pie and he actually made one for his mom I believe.

👍. That was probably where I learned you’re supposed to boil it for a “while”.
