I don't know why this camera makes things darker than they actually are but it did with the hushpuppies too. The tomato paste wasn't that black, it was perfectly caramelized.
You could take it to a different level with garlic, onions, peppers, basil, Avocado, bacon etc, but for what I was trying to accomplish I didn't even add salt and pepper.

I gotta get back on the right track soon....because of family situation, I've not been as selective...one thing at a time...my lipids were a little higher than last year (still well in range), but I take a statin...glucose stays the same in the upper 90s (always has), but this past visit (June), I had my A1C tested for the first time, and it was at 6.0....right now one thing at a time is the best I can doAlways having to get creative with no carb foods. Wife is type 1 D. So it's a struggle. This one was pretty easy though
