Well. Our administration is a joke right now, but with that said, I like Butch Jones and I always have. He at least has won wherever he's been. We couldn't say that for Dooley. There's reason to believe in Butch, even though he ****ed up the Jay Graham situation. But this is the basketball forum. I'll stop.

If they didn't go that route, Pearl wouldn't have been here and then you wouldn't have any reason to be upset about basketball now. However, I'll still go back to my comparison of Coach Ks start at Duke (first two years) and Martin's start here. Coach K was 27-30 his first two years, and 36-26 so far. And Martin's career at Missouri State was exponentially better than Ks career at Army. Looks like that turned out ok for Duke. Good thing they didn't fire him after two years, or even three (was 38-47 after year 3). You don't know how good a guy is going to be without giving him ample time, ie at least 3 years if not 4 or 5.

I'm not saying fire him.. Just was pointing out he may not get fired anyway.. The Administration sucks, and has sucked for a long time..

I can see if the Vols do the exact same thing next year them giving Martin another year (again assuming we don't make the NCAAT this year).

I mean there was very strong rumblings that had Dooley not botched the Missouri game and/or didn't get blown out by Vandy and the Vols made a bowl, he would have been retained, and personally I believe that.

Unless we majorly bomb next season, I'm not sure we can afford to fire CCM if we wanted. Our financial situation is pitiful, and in the eyes of the AD at Tennessee, where football is the bread-winner, basketball can take a back seat and suffer a year or two of below par coaching for the sake of the entire athletic dept.

I don't like that it could potentially come to that, but it could all the same.

CCM isn't the one missing the shots or playin poor defense...that's on the players. CCM's job is to bench those who aren't performing...however, we don't have any options to go to. Chievous, Edwards, & Reese have their moments, but don't look like SEC caliber players to me at this point. Bottom line is he's got to get some better talent than what he's got the last two years.

Also...I thought it interesting that nearly every time UGA came out of a timeout that they had a set play call that they scored on. I don't recall that happening on our end. Fox also did a nice job mixing up the zone & man D...& causing our guys a lot of grief on the offensive end. IMO, good coaches learn from being out coached & adapt their own styles...hopefully CCM will do the same.

I know this is the bball forum but exactly how did CBJ screw up the Jay Graham situation? He quit and CBJ countered the offer! JG didn't want to be here so he left bottom line! But it's all ok CBJ hired a quality replacement and we will be good if not better than expected at that position!!! Sorry for the rant but I just don't see how it's Butch's fault for Graham leaving!

Graham was behind nobodies in terms of salary and title. Absolutely zero respect. It's obvious Jones screwed up simply based the fact that Graham is gone right now.

He should have been paid more but I still don't think that's why he left. He just didn't feel comfortable with the new staff, and that's fine. Butch shouldn't have to mold his staff based on the wishes of a running back coach.

Graham had the least amount of coaching experience of anyone on the staff.

Who would have thought Richardson or Moore would help as much as they have?

If there's anything I've learned with this basketball program, you just have to see what happens.

My god, I have typed "see what happens" hundreds of time throughout the season.

Those nobodies have done more than Graham has done in his coaching career!!! Don't get me wrong I wish he hadn't left but he is gone and we have a great replacement so lets move on and stop blaming CBJ!!!! Get over it he had nothing to do with him leaving!
