Current CBB Coaching Hiring/Firing Thread

Imagine paying a guy $6 million and making him the 3rd highest paid coach in the sport for a coaching career with one total Sweet 16 appearance. I wonder how many times the Georgetown boards will bring up his salary in the first few seasons.

Georgetown won't be expecting Final Fours in the short term. Ewing wrecked that program so much that getting back on the bubble consistently and then taking step forward to tourney consistent team will be pie in the sky

No clue if he's a good recruiter/coach but the transfer portal and NIL can make programs turnaround much quicker these days.

Sounds sleazy to me. But then again, look who they hired.

The Red Storm would owe Anderson $11 million had they not designated Anderson a for-cause firing.
According to ESPN, St. John’s claimed Anderson was fired for failing to encourage athletes to meet academic standards, not properly supervising his assistants and not doing his job in a way “that reflected positively on St. John’s University.”

Tobin Anderson is a great hire for Iona. He's had a lot of success at Division 2 before Farleigh Dickinson, and like already mentioned, you have to take advantage of upsetting Purdue. Solid hire to replace Pitino.

He said that?? Geez. Have a little humility. You can think that in private, but rarely do you ever see a coach say that in public.
Yep. Out loud. With his mouth.

It is just unbelievable the arrogance and lack of self-awareness. He also refuses to admit to any wrongdoing in regard to providing impermissible benefits to players by sugarcoating it in saying...
"Well it doesn't matter what you believe, or what you don't believe. I've never cheated the game. I never gave a player anything that he didn't deserve in life."
Essentially, all the cheating I've done was OK because the player deserved it.

Sheesh. That’s a bad look. Kind of hope he fails at St. John’s now. How tone deaf do you have to be to respond like that.
