1.Oregon — highest-ranked conference champion (Big Ten) and seeded No. 1

2.Ohio State — at-large pick (second team from the Big Ten), seeded No. 5

3. Texas — second-highest-ranked conference champion (SEC) and seeded No. 2

4. Penn State — at-large pick (third team in the Big Ten), seeded No. 6

5. Notre Dame — at-large pick (independent), seeded No. 7

6. Miami (Fla.) — third-highest-ranked conference champion (ACC) and seeded No. 3

7. Georgia — at-large pick (second team from the SEC), seeded No. 8

8. Tennessee — at-large pick (third team from the SEC), seeded No. 9

9. SMU — at-large pick (second team from the ACC), seeded No. 10

10. Indiana — at-large pick (fourth team from the Big Ten), seeded No. 11

11. Boise State — fourth-highest-ranked conference champion (Mountain West) and seeded No. 4

14. Arizona State — fifth-highest-ranked conference champion (Big 12) and seeded No. 12

Ohio State & Miami already lost - we move up to #7.

Oregon beats Penn State - we move up to #6

Texas beats Georgia - we move up to #5 and host Arizona State

If A&M wins tonite and then loses to Georgia, #6 is as high as we can get. If A&M wins tonite and then beats UGA, #6 is our ceiling.

You shouldn’t assume that OSU is falling behind Tennessee. Also, no guarantee that UGA would fall back with a loss to TX next week.

I would say almost 100% chance as of now
I don't think we can pass ND.

I'm not convinced losing Conf championship games drops Penn St or Texas below us.

I think we need aTm to knock off Texas or SMU to knock off Clemson in the ACC championship.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they protected them because the Committee is run by the Big 10. But the Michigan loss is worse than our Ark loss because it was at home for OSU.

We won’t pass ND. And if a team loses in their conference championship. They should drop
Spots just not completely out of the CFP. IMO, which means nothing.

A Texas loss tonight would just be too much chaos

We can’t be higher than a 6 . Notre Dame doesn’t get a 1st round bye and if Boise St wins out they would be a champion.

I don’t that South Carolina would get in ahead of Bama.
You may be right, but they beat a top 12 team while Bama had a comfortable but ugly win against a bad Auburn team. Carolina has been hotter lately, including an absolute evisceration of the same Oklahoma team that played windshield to Alabama’s flying bug last week. Plus their loss to LSU was highway robbery by the officials.
