Current Recruiting Rank... predict + or -

Guys, I've put up a list of players that we could pull that are 4 or 5 stars. Here is about how I think the scholly distribution plays out for the rest of the class with some possible names to fill them:

1 RB (David Oku)
This is David Oku's scholly if he wants it. There may be another RB that we would take here, but Oku is definitely the plan.

3 WR (Zach Rogers, Rodney Smith and Marlon Brown)
This WR class would have a really good balance of speed and size. These guys are all high on UT and I don't think they could cut one loose because we are just as high on them. There are alot of other names looking at us, though.

1 TE (Logan Thomas or Thad McHaney)
The staff would absolutely love to land Thomas, but I think McHaney is the more likely candidate at the moment. We will see, though. We may not end up with any since it isn't a huge need.

2 OL (Antonio Foster and Morgan Moses, Peter White, or Stavion Lowe)
We already have a few OL committed, but we will take at least 2 more. Foster will commit to us whenever he visits and I have a feeling that the staff is wanting to hold the last scholly for a stud. There are other OL we are chasing, but I think those 3 really have the coaches' eyes.

4 DL (Sykes, Hall, and two of Chris Bonds, Corey Gaines, Darrington Sentimore, Chris Davenport, and Akiem Hicks)
This is the toughest spot to predict because we have two positions with possibly alot of need. I don't think the staff is nearly as urgent about DE as DT. At DE, we could possibly have EJAW, Fowlkes, Sykes, Rufus, Hall, GWill, etc). Then again, Hall may move inside. Rufus and GWill may stay at LB and Fowlkes/EJAW may be TE. I personally think the staff wants Hall at DT along with Hicks and another DT from that list, maybe even 2 more.

2 LB (Rufus Williams and Jerod Askew)
I know Williams is listed as DE, but he's still at LB size even with a year of JUCO. Askew seems to be a nice priority at LB, though. There are other names, but I think he is near the top.

3 DB (3 of D.J. Hunter, Darren Myles, DJ Swearinger, Eric Gordon, and Brandon McGee)
The first 3 names are the most likely, but it isn't completely nonsense that we could land one of the other two instead. There are a few other names out there, but it may be a big drop in talent.

I know that seems like a whole lot of athletes, especially with our current class, but we do lose a good amount of athletes and alot of these guys can be moved around. That class would definitely have top 10 (and possibly top 5) potential on it. That would add 12-14 4* or 5* (Williams, Hall, Sykes, and Hicks will all be 4 or higher) players to the current class. Add that to the fact that some of our players will move up and Schofield will get ranked and you have a very good class.

if we had 12-14 4* then it would def. be a top five class.. especially since all our three star guys are going to be bumped up to higher three star ratings most likely..

I think it is wishful thinking that we have a shot at Davenport, Myles, Gordon, Sentimore, Moses, McGee and Logan Thomas. And that comprises many of the big name guys. i just don't see us cracking the top five. Top ten is a possibility but I still would peg us at 12-13 range.

We got alot of our guys early in the game before the other big schools got on them.

That's what people always say. We know little about how Rivals determines their ratings. It's very hard to predict. There was one article about Teague that said he was one of the top three rising prospects in the south, yet he received a soft three star rating.

Yeah, I'd say 6-8. We have the possibility to jump in the 3-5 range if we can pull a few certain players, but I'd say this is a top 10 class for sure.

That is very interesting coming from you. I would have thought more like 10-15 just based on the commits so far.

Do you think any of the current commits will move up?

It's time to wakeup. Clearly you've been dreaming.

I'm just glad to see Bama down at 25 :)

As for our class I think we finish 5-10. 9th to be specific.

I was surprised by how high his estimate was but his track record of objectivity is much better than yours... So it's time for you to wakeup.... you've clearly been dreaming your negative bias.

That's crap, as is your assertion that it's likely that most of our guys will be upgraded later.

I will make my avatar the image of your choice for a year if atleast 4 of our players do not go up in rankings this season.

Edit before he agrees Midfielder. That is unlikely unless you plan on counting guys that haven't been rated yet. The recruiting svcs are sort of like poll voters. They don't like to admit that they were wrong to start with... thus UT hammers Cal and after losing to UF by 1... they're looking up at Cal in the polls.

The svcs just don't admit they were wrong that often.

I think if we get Marlon Brown and Morgan Moses, that could put us in the top 10 pretty easily. We seem to be the leader for MB and by most accounts MM has us in his top 2 or 3. That's two 5* assuming MB stays at a 5*.

I think many may be overestimating the love C Hall is going to get from the Recruiting svcs. He went down there a 2*. I think it is unlikely he comes out any better than a 3*. Could happen but I'd be surprised.

Um, he had 62 tackles, 13 tfls, and 11 sacks as a JUCO freshman. He has the measurables. Don't be surprised if he is better than a 3.
