:eek:hmy: Tennessee Tech wins the Oxford & now goes to a Super. How? Won 4 games in 4 days, including beating host & SEC champion Ole Miss 2 of 3! Yet some here pile on Coach Matt Bragga? GO GOLDEN EAGLES!

I don’t think anyone on here is not happy they won. I am thrilled. That doesn’t mean what he did wasn’t wrong. If you can’t get one out in a 10 RUN!! game without using him. You don’t deserve to move on.

Honestly, this week isn’t as bad as last week. There are just more eyes on it now to see it. Moth’s threw 124 pitches and then threw 35 more on 2 days rest in a game they didn’t even have to win make the tournament. They were already incredibly safe and he threw him anyways. We have pitch counts now in the lower levels to keep coaches from doing that garbage.

While I do agree with the last point in the OVC championship game that was excessive on only 2 days rest but the announcers said it during the game last night there was no guarantee that they were going to make the tournament. Even though they had a great season to that point no OVC team had ever made the field as an at-large there were even guys on here (Bruin) who questioned whether they would get an at-large with their record. So it's not like it was a sure thing and Bragga was just wailing him out there.

For all those who are questioning yesterday's decision below are the Moths' totals for the weekend.

Saturday - 1 App 5.2 IP 90 Pitches
Monday - 2 Apps 1 IP 24 Pitches

3 Day total - 3 Apps 6.2 IP 114 Pitches. I would venture to say that you would find middle relievers in the MLB all over the place with this kind of stat line in a 3 day span.

And again it's not about totally up the work. You just put kids at risk with short rest work and even worse with two outings in one day

Only way you find that 3 day total is if it all happens in one day or with day one being a very short outing. No chance in hell it happens when the heavy day was day 1 like in this case

A bit O/T but the talk in other threads about doing away with bowl games because apparently more football is a bad thing, has there ever been any kind of "NIT" for baseball?

I know it's a different animal than basketball and football with completely different factors and all, but just generally curious.

Yep, win 9-5...SEC is sitting pretty thus far...

6 SEC teams going to the supers out of 10 in the regionals.

Those 6 are all paired up in the supers. Bummer.

However, 3 SEC are a cinch to make Omaha. With 2 of them in the same bracket. Good chance for the SEC to run deep toward the championship series.

Bad news. They all have to get past Tn Tech. I have a feeling they will leave Texas in Austin this weekend.

Yes, & Dr. Andrews has had some amazing successes. I just think of Brandon Beachy, Kris Medlin, Mike Minor & other young Braves pitchers whose stories weren't happy endings. While Tommy John surgery has been a marvel since Dr. Jobe's first procedure in 1974, it seems to have become an over-reach. Reading about young teens having it is somewhat disturbing. Dr. Andrews & I are about the same age & I respect his legacy.
