D4H's 2018 Tennessee Vols Season Preview

You do realize you started a whole thread on 12/20/17 titled "Georgia will dominate college football the next 3 years" and now are predicting them to lose 3 games, including one to Vanderbilt?

Edit: Apologize for the multiple postings...not even sure how I did that.

I hate you for making me defend him, but if you read his first post, he does say they take a step back this year.

1. It isn't my fault if he sucks so bad at doing this he can't keep "dominate" and "step back" straight in his own thread title/body.
2. Step back so much they lose to 3 teams including Vandy?

I'm also pretty sure he'd predicted Bama's dominance was over before they won the title last year and is now predicting at LEAST an SEC title for them.

Spin it however way you want. Fact is the guy knows football for the most part and if it wasn’t for Jones, we would have gotten at least one natty with Dobbs.

Okay, I need to tell several people that I was wrong. I don't think I need to apologize because I was never an ass about it, but to those that said/say D4H and Nationdom are the same and I disagreed...I now think you're right.

It really doesn't matter to me, but its just too obvious to overlook.

Its the moment you've all been waiting for. My predictions for the 2018 season. I know I haven't been posting here as often as the last couple of years. The reason is very simple. There just aren't as many future NFL stars in college this year as the past couple of years. The next 2 drafts are gonna be kinda weak which is why I haven't been as heavily invested in following the college game this season as I have the last few years. With that said, I have been following it enough to put out my yearly predictions.

Let's start with my outlook for the Vols in the 2018 season. I still like the talent on this team. We definitely don't have as much NFL talent as we did in 2015 and 2016 (when we should have won back to back national titles). However, there is still enough NFL talent on this team (especially on defense) for a good coach to have instant success. Jeremy Pruitt has walked into a great situation. I believe he can have a Guz Malzahn-esque 2013 Auburn turnaround at Tennessee this year. We've had the talent for a while now, all we needed was a competent coaching staff. I believe we have that now. Tennessee will go from win-less in the conference to the SEC Championship Game in 2018. Just watch.

2018 Vols Season
September 1: vs West Virginia (W 31-24) - we start the season off with a bang shocking the nation with an upset win over heavily favored West Virginia
September 8: vs East Tennessee St. (W 59-0) - no explanation needed; this is a cupcake and we should destroy them easily
September 15: vs UTEP (W 42-10) - another cupcake; another easy win
September 22: vs Florida (W 21-14) - our first big test; defense dominates and the offense makes enough plays to beat the Gators
September 29: @ Georgia (L 27-28) - even with our early season success we're still huge underdogs in this game; nonetheless we play well but lose in a heart-breaker
October 13: @ Auburn (L 10-15) - same story as the Georgia game; we play incredible on the road as huge underdogs but Auburn squeaks out the win
October 20: vs Alabama (W 17-16) - we shock the world and beat the previously undefeated Alabama for a program defining win
October 27: @ South Carolina (W 35-14) - brimming with confidence from of our win against Alabama we throttle an overrated South Carolina team on the road
November 3: vs Charlotte (W 45-0) - the good times keep rolling as we get the shut out
November 10: vs Kentucky (W 31-10) - defense dominates and the running backs run wild against Kentucky
November 17: vs Missouri (W 30-21) - team loses focus a little after a string of dominating wins and lets this one be closer than it should
November 24: @ Vanderbilt (W 52-13) - revenge game so the team is focused and lays a beating on the Commodores

Final Regular Season Record: 10-2 (6-2 SEC) - even with losing 2 conference games as well as the tie-breaker to Georgia, we find a way to backdoor our way into the SEC Championship Game after Georgia ends up losing 3 conference games (at LSU, vs Auburn, and in a crazy upset vs Vanderbilt). That sets us up for an epic rematch in Atlanta against Alabama.

2018 SEC Championship Game: vs Alabama (L 28-32) - we put up a hell of a fight but Nick Saban and the Tide outlast us in an instant classic

2019 Sugar Bowl: vs Miami (W 38-20) - its 1985 all over again as the Vols are back in the Sugar Bowl against "the U"; same result as last time; we win BIG
Love your optimism D4H.However please pass me what you are smoking.

I could of worded that post better. I think those rosters, along with Dobbs could have won a natty or two. I’m a little disappointed that you have become a sheep though and followed the crowd. You have fallen. Vols will not. Not anymore.

Here is the proof:

Tennessee has the #2 or #3 team in the SEC

Follow the exchange and it's clear he forgot to switch accounts before responding.

You want to know the most irksome part? As a Vol fan you really, really want D4H to be right with his pro-UT predictions. As a thinking individual that's seen his resume regarding prognostication you'd almost wish he'd keep quiet or, at the very least, roll it back a bit. Reality has shown to have an extremely poor correlation with his divinations.

Yeah but he's just a troll. He only makes these big time predictions just in case they happen so he can claim how he called it. If you pick UT to win the SEC/NC every year, you eventually might get it right, but it doesn't mean you actually knew what you were talking about.

And I'm fine with that. I still enjoy you and D4H's posts and didn't mean to hurt your feelers, I've just noticed neither of you have posted for a while, then you both show up within an hour or so...in the same thread....bragging about how you/he knows football. Lol, I actually enjoy it an find it very entertaining, I just felt the need to tell those guys I've disagreed with so much, that I was wrong.

Its all good as far as I'm concerned.

He spent a lot of time defending D4H in some of the "prediction" threads. He used a lot of the same language that D4H uses to defend himself.

I did find one thread where him, D4H, and Nationdom are just liking each other's posts.

UGA may take a step back this year due to the defense being young, but with the improvement on the o-line and the receiving core I do expect the offense to score more points, possibly out of necessity because of the young defense. However, I don't see Vandy competing with UGA at all. Highest chance of loss would be USCe, Auburn, then I'd take any list of LSU, Mizzou, and maybe UT since the games have been close besides last year. Not sure if the SECe is good enough to show UGA's step back.

What ever you're spiking that orange koolaid with I want a double! This would be amazing if it truly happened. If I start telling people at work this prediction I'll get popped with another "random" drug test. GBO WGWTFA

You might want to be a little worried.

He predicted that UT would go 15-0 in 2016 and they lost 4.
He predicted that UT would go 14-1 in 2017 and they lost 8.
He's not predicted that UT will go 11-3 in 2018... the good news is that it's impossible to lose 16 games.

This means that we'll need at least 15 "D4H wins" in order to make a bowl game. If my math is correct.
