Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that a Crocodylus niloticus, aka Nile Crocodile? Its nose lacks the broad, rounded quality of Alligator mississippiensis, aka American Alligator: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/southflorida/everglades/Marshes/images/gator3.jpg

You might want to get the species right. Great academics. What a pack of gimps. Its an insult to the memory of Steve "Crocodile Hunter" Irwin.

Hey lawgator. Since Florida is obviously the smarter of the two schools. Am I to believe we are currently in the year XXVI a.d.? I mean, it was on Florida promo shirts right? It must be true. hahaha
btw, Tennessee wins Saturday because I say so! HA

Who cares about academics? Academics don't count for s**t on the football field. Tennessee's going to win on Saturday, and that's all there is to it.

Well, I wouldn't say that academics don't matter at all...If I could choose between two equal player in every aspect except one is a kick butt student, i'm taking the latter. Smart kids are probably goinging to make SOME smarter decisions.

I can only say this lawgator person sounds like a school child trying to say something when he has nothing to say. I am certainly not a gator fan but I could have come up with something on behalf of the gators that would have been better than anything he has said in his 3 parter.
Edit addition: I waited until part three before replying because I thought there might be something in part three..... not so.... just a waste of our time.

and yes my typing sucks

Agreed.

That could be one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen. I am referencing your post that started this thread.

They have more merit scholars? They also have approximately 20,000 more students I would estimate. I would hope they have more than we would. Pull up some useful facts next time.

Ok, then go with the USN&WR report ranking. Hey, you should have gone to the University of Tulsa and gotten yourself a QUALITY edumacation.

Oh lawgator... such the master baiter.
At Tennessee, a wise professor once introduced me to the concept of the "red herring". A "red herring" is a logical fallacy in which an irrelevant topic is presented in order to divert attention from the original issue. An academic post on a football message board seems to fit the definition well. One which attempts to peg one school as being morally deserving of winning a football game versus another due to an arbitrary academic rating fits the definition even better. The issue is this: THAT WE ARE MAKING LUGGAGE OUT OF YOUR A$$ES ON SATURDAY IN THE NAME OF INKY JOHNSON, AND THERE IS NOTHING URBAN MEYER, CHRIS LEAK, OR LEE CORSO CAN DO TO STOP IT. Well, maybe ol' Lee can, if he picks us to win.

:hi:

It took a "wise professor" at UT to teach you about red herrings? My God, are the high schools in Tennessee THAT bad?

Actually, Lawgator1 your wrong, I happen to attend the Univ. of Tenn. and they have ranked nationally in the top 40 best public schools. And why you say I know this? It's because they post it all over the place go to utk.edu and find out the info. yourself and stop thinking that Florida has been a dominant superpower for hundreds of years because it has not.

Top 40 in PUBLIC, yes. Actually UF typically ranks Top 10 in public univiersities. But the stat I gave you was for both private and public universities.

You recommended stilts yesterday and I declined that option. So I am stuck at work with crap all over my shoes.

Well, lex, that's what you get for working at a pig rendering factory.

The real problem is that none of the TAs spoke English.

I studied .... the female students.

I actualyl loved living in the dorms. Total debauchery.

It was freshman year.

You're going to hate me for this, but I actually went to high school in Ocala, Florida. Nice try, buddy.

Funny academic observation: the identity of the person who taught me about the "red herring" is itself a red herring in lawgator's argument. Discuss. :lolabove:

Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in the dictionary?
Haven't heard that one since I was in 5th grade...by the way, can you go and fetch me a box of grid squares? And, when you are through with that, take this hammer and go check the armor of the tank for me.

threw? not a word
through? -a word but doesn't mean what you think it does
finished....great fit here.
Heck, if we're going to respond to a thread on academics let's use at least basic english skills. :peace2:

Tennessee led the SEC in 2005 with 30 football student-athletes on the Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Four of Tennessee's five players taken in the 2006 NFL Draft have completed their undergraduate degrees.

Eight Vol football players have been named first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America.

In 2005, six Volunteers, including starters Jason Allen, Rick Clausen, C.J. Fayton, Richie Gandy and Jason Mitchell, entered their senior seasons as UT graduates.

Since 1997, Tennessee stands as the only football program to have two players earn the prestigious Draddy Award, courtesy of Peyton Manning in 1997 and Michael Munoz in 2004. The Draddy often is referred to as the "Academic Heisman."
