Failed at Michigan. But has revived Harvard. It'd be a tough sell. I think he was overwhelmed at Michigan and wasn't ready to take such a big job like that yet.

Why would you or UT want Pitino? I understand he's your favorite coach, but if our goal is to repair our broken image, then he is somewhere next to Billy Gillespie on the list of potential candidates. Can you imagine the PR nightmare that would create through the media? Fire a cheat and a liar and hire another. Pitino cheated on his wife, lied about it, and a media blitz and trial followed that tarnished his image. Coaching and recruiting-wise, I see the draw, but to me, it's a bad time to hire a coach with only a year removed from a scandal himself.

Pitino had some personal issues, no question. If UT had a chance to get him and didn't pursue it, I think it would be the worst mistake they could possibly make. With that said, I don't think there's any way that they will have a legitimate chance at him, so it's not going to be an issue.
