This is such a silly argument. His salary makes it even more unacceptable. I’ll add every other coach at his pay level understands that once you cross four million in college basketball part of the job is looking mad when you are losing. Part of why Archie Miller is gone is that he had Rick Barnes “oh well I’m making bank so what do I care” attitude on the sideline.
LOL...so many arbitrary benchmarks and assumptions.

Because if Tennessee is willing to pay top 5 money for a basketball coach then the expectations should be and are higher. And if we are miss tournaments and get bounced in the first round, then maybe at that point we can see who might be available at $5M/year
To me, that is an entirely different argument, and one with significantly more merit.

The people that don’t get outside of Knoxville very much can’t see things as clearly as those of us that live elsewhere.

😂😂
I’ve lived in Texas, Missouri, and Alabama.
Grew up in west TN and live in Middle TN.
I’ve been to Alaska, Florida, and Pennsylvania in recent months.

But you are correct, anyone with a different view from yours clearly is a dumb hillbilly who have never ventured outside the Knoxville metroplex.

No need to be THAT condescending. It happens at every level of sports (NY JETS?) and sizes of cities. But it definitely appears to be worse in college cities during the pandemic times: people are hypersensitive about everything. The level of overall anxiety of VolNation is rather pitiful. People need to go find other more positive things to do in life and not get so bent out of shape about sports. I was as bad as anyone then when reprimanded for losing my temper at a watch party at a restaurant in 2019, I made an adjustment. It’s just not worth that much torture day in day out. All the media must have something to do to be important and all it does is keep people on edge.

Agreed. If your sports team makes you feel embarrassed, or you get angry and rage / vent volatility on social media at players / coaches...

You need some perspective. Your identity is too tied to an entertainment industry, over which you have absolutely NO control.

Good post 💪🏼
