It's almost as if Darby isn't an SEC caliber player...
I followed her high school career closely.....Greenfield a small town is 30 miles from where I live. I never thought from the day she signed with UT she would be anymore than a average player at UT in the SEC. Not her fault...it's just her. She was better suited for a smaller school like UTM etc IMO.

Nothing wrong with taking advantage of the offer given to play at Tennessee and follow your dream. Thousands of girls like her were not given that opportunity that had productive careers at lower level schools.

It just seems to me that we have no offensive identity. Lack of movement and no team speed.
Our offensive identity is sitting on the bench in a boot. Looking agonizingly sad during the second half butt kicking.

I get you need to have other options, but I still don't think it was the wrong thing to build your system around that player. You'd be crazy not to.

Also, I STILL think D Wells will eventually be a very good pg and make a big difference in the offense. Just hope we don't have to wait for next year to see it.

Its early i expect Darby and Spear to both pick up there games whenever Rickea returns . Without Jackson the defense can focus more on those 2 which makes their shots tougher to get. Rickea is the X factor and difference maker. If she plays last night i think we win . Our offense is shoulders above with her than without her our defense is pretty much the same LOL

Sounded as if you were making excuses. Nobody needs reminding RJ is out, no guarantees if she’s playing that we win. And shooters shooting doesn’t come at the expense of losing in hopes of getting back to game avg.
Assumptions on your part. Folks were, apparently, not stating anything concerning Rickea so I just wanted to be sure total picture in perspective when stating Lady Vol issues. Shooters point is an exaggeration of my comment. Hopefully, you understood I didn't mean a shooter tosses up a ton of shots on an off night. Alot of getting back is done in the gym in practice. Also, to another assumption, didn't say or imply Miss Jackson being reinserted in lineup equates to a W. That handles your Trifecta of assumptions that were all amiss. Good attempt to bring me down to a nonrelevant position. Goodday mate...

So basically just a word salad of 13 lines of rambling.

I have noticed there are many women across the sport who came into this season in less optimum physical condition, and I feel like it has affected their games and, in some cases, may even be exacerbating chronic injuries that may not have become as severe if they weren't more stressed.

I still say the whole suddenly having lots of spending money and then spending way too much of it in unhealthy ways is probably a factor.

Of course, while I'm pretty sure it's against the rules for anyone to suggest a player slim down a bit to regain some speed, stamina, and also reduce stress on an injured body part, it sure will be great if they eventually figure that out on their own. I speak from personal experience on this.

I won't mention any names, but there is one player for Louisville who, to my eye, lost quite a bit of quickness when she came into this season carrying some extra. One of the few who actually appear to be in better game shape and quicker this season, despite having more money than God, is Paige Bueckers.

I don't know. Just seems to me that a lot of players aren't as focused on basketball and keeping their bodies in optimal playing shape now that so many of them are also juggling the responsibilities of being business women, too.

Definitely something to pay attention too. Across all sports big names are showcasing their NIL talents while others have regressed.

Agreed, that's why no other SEC program wanted her. Not her fault Kellie has hasn't accrued enough talented depth on the roster that she is still putting a mid-major player in the starting lineup. In year five...

agree,,,its not her defense that is her weakness this year
hitting a 3 at a better clip,, might be nice though
Wells is better passing point than Powell. Powell drives and throws of shots with no hope of going in. Don't might Powell shooting good jumper s or open shots. Do not like to see a player driving to the basket and the defense cut off then throw up any shoot they can when had a player wide open. I would take Tess shooting a long three over a player who tried to drive to the basket and got cut off by the defense and throws a wild shot that has less than one % going in.

She rotates wrong so many times. Gets 3s hit in her face or doesn’t close out and can’t guard to the basket? But yay her help side strips are better? Her d isn’t good plain and simple. Her rebounding however is MUCH better

I like Darby and think she is important to our team’s success but she gets way too much Grace compared to others on our team and too many minutes

I believe it was two years ago that Darby missed her first 10 threes or something like that. Then she shot 50% from 3 through SEC play.

One of these days Darby and Puckett are going to shoot well at the same time... But I've never seen it.
Karoline and
Sara set screens as good as any other player on Tennessee. Some posters worry about who gets more or who is leading scorer is. But team plays are just as importing to.
