I am ultimately impressed with Dave Hart and the words he spoke today.

He knows what winning looks like. He is working on the academic barriers that are present. He understands the competitiveness of the SEC, the financial issues, etc. He knows the characteristics we need for the next hire: character, experience, and talent.

The future is bright Vol Nation!

Too bad he sounded like a bored old guy while he was saying it.

Too bad you're an idiot. He is running on zero sleep and is in charge of one of the greatest athletic programs in the country. Do you know what utter exhaustion looks/sounds like? Do you know what 30 years of experience in leadership sounds like? It sounds steady, relaxed, and calm.

How many of the people on here praising Hart's performance were backing Dooley 6 weeks ago? To me, he doesn't sound that much different and he's given me nothing to lead me suspect he won't fail as well.

Hart has a track record of success.

Dooley has a track record of losses.

I'm glad you can completely surmise a man's professional competency from a single press conference.

That was my feeling too. I think he is going to get the ship righted.

I have more experience with him than most on this board. I was at Florida State when he was our AD there.

Look, I hope I'm 100% wrong about the guy and you're 100% right. It's just that he's had to have known this day was coming for a long time and his statements just felt weak to me, like he was really dreading all the work involved in finding a new coach and wasn't really invested in it. Just a judgement call on my part.

He pretty much just said all of the right things.

Not sure what some of you people hating on him were expecting.

At the very least vol nation will have the excitement of a new coach, a new pitch in recruiting players and the hope we can return to national prominence. Here Is to hoping what I saw as a student( fulmer fire, Kiffin episode, and the Dooley project) is behind us and we can all have something to celebrate on Saturdays next year.

So that rules out Petrino? Thank god...

I agree with most of the others here. hart said all the right things. I am glad he came out and did not just release a statement. He answered all their questions and was quiet candid with members of the media.

Hart was impressive today.

I think he will give a lot of thought on this hire and bring in the best he possibly can. He had a level of sincerity that I have not seen from an AD in a long time. He was sad and did show some emotions when talking about the families of these coached.

You can tell from his facial expressions and body language that he really cares.

Seems like a genuine guy who had to make a tough call, but do the right thing all at the same time.

I have faith that he will bring in the right coach.

Sounded like if we'd have gone 6-6 Dooley would still have had a job and that he infact did not have out any 'feelers.' Still an idiot in my book.
