From the little I heard if sounds like he wants Smart or maybe strong. On the other hand the big time boosters are going to tell Hart who they are going to pay for and he'll take it and he will like it.

What?

Smart isn't a head coach. Strong's measure of success is questionable.

He said winning head coaching experience was a requirement. Leaves Smart out.

Like I said I didnt here all of it or just wasnt paying attention. I heard that he wants someone that knows what its like to climb the ladder in the SEC which I guess put Petrino in there as well.

He needs someone with INTEGRITY, so that would rule out Petrino.

Nope, cause we can't afford any issues considering extended probation. Puts Petrino out.

You might wanna take the time to listen to it when they have up on UTSports. :) It's pretty telling.

firing a bad coach, with no plan is place, is not a "bright" future

Again ur an idiot.. U cannot hunt for a new coach until u fire the one u have. I guess u don't remember what happened to Auburn when they were dealing with looking for a new coach be hind Tuberville. They almost got their mAsS sued. And Hart just called. He said he was sorry for not being out front with possible hires with AUBURN, KY, AND ARKY looking for a new coach.

Please leave this forum right now!!!!!

Hart ruled said its critical for next coach to have head coaching experience thus ruling out Smart

For everyone throwing Hart in the ground, I bet I can some up in five words what Mike Hamilton would have said...... " we'll, uh, uh, you see...." With no hope of having a bright future ahead. Hart has a plan, and just because he didn't give full details and names today doesn't mean chat. Let him do the job he has success with!

He hired Dooley because he said "mama," liked "home cooking" and grits or something, if I remember that press conference correctly.

Thought the press conference went very well. He didn't shy away or duck around any questions. I'll be interested to see whot he hire is.

It's easier to log on the message board and post wild assumptions.

I am ultimately impressed with Dave Hart and the words he spoke today.

He knows what winning looks like. He is working on the academic barriers that are present. He understands the competitiveness of the SEC, the financial issues, etc. He knows the characteristics we need for the next hire: character, experience, and talent.

The future is bright Vol Nation!
He did have a gift to gab.

UT is not the harvard of the south--they can admit the same type of players as alabama, fla and Ga--hart needs to get with it.

Actually, you are wrong. TN has higher academic standards thanks to the leadership and changes brought forth by Jimmy Cheek. Some understandable, but they have hurt UT athletics. These academic changes have made it more challenging for TN than GA, AL, FL, etc.

The ignorance of some continues...

if Hart already has his man in the wings, probability tells me he will wait a week or two to let the fans get over this season and the horrible coaching they had to watch each and every week, and then will announce the new coach declaring "this is a NEW era in UT football!!!" lets all welcome (insert name) as our next coach to lead us back to the promised land!!!"
