IMHO, Dave Hart has done nothing to manage fanbase expectations on this hire.

In fact, his during his one moment to inform the fanbase what was going to happen, to me, was nothing but an extended way of saying, "Don't worry, guys. I'm not going to hire Kirby Smart like I was when I first arrived...." I'll be honest, I'm not convinced this won't happen.

If any of what Clay Travis writes in the opening of his Friday mailbag is true, I don't see Hart being around long enough to actually make the next hire.

I've been dubious on Hart from the beginning. I think I'm still in the denial phase, and I'm hoping all of this is still a smokescreen. It might still come good?

But right now I feel like the fourth quarter of the Florida game; I feel like making some real smokescreens with a few old mattresses right now.

Yep. Should have squashed it before now. Just like all of the news outlets were saying. If the deal is not a deal then squash it fast. Then you dont come out looking like and idiot. All that had to be released was that UT and Gruden couldn't meet on common ground to make things work. Then you dont have this build up.

Why is our fanbase so obsessed with firing everybody?

Don't fire Hart because you were too blind to see that Gruden was never coming.

Wish we could fire some fans instead.

I find it hard to believe that Hart sat on his thumbs, doing nothing. If he has, we're in a lot of trouble, and someone should probably force him to eat his own face.

The problem is that Gruden's agent stated that TODAY was the first he had heard from Hart....that is what has the Nation up in arms....

Hart obviously at least spoke to Jon or his agent. They commented and said they were not interested. How detailed the talks were?? Noone will know. People built this up themselves and can't blame anyone but themselves if they bought into the idea of Gruden here. It's not always a good idea to trust some random "OG's".

Agents are the epitome of honesty too. We were told from the start there would be nothing said until the search process played out & a coach was hired.

A smart AD puts it out there and lets it get squashed fast. Look at ARK. while I am sure they are pissed that its been almost a year and they have no HC. I have a feeling that since no rumors from them lately means they have someone locked up that still has conf champ game left. It wouldn't suprise me if they end up with a bigger name than us at this point.

Ill give you one simple fact! If Gruden wanted to be the coach at UT he would be, its that simple.

Guys , as we speak both Arkansas and Auburn fans are also waiting on the Gruden press conference.

The "Gruden Love" here was incredible. There were dudes here wanting to have Gruden's baby. The pic of the locker room press conference was ridiculous. One small tripod, and two cafeteria chairs meant that Gruden was our coach...insane.

So I guess we could say you are being a horse's a$$? I just wish I could find all the posts where things were clearly stated and were fact.
