Dave Hart's Press Conference

IMHO, Dave Hart has done nothing to manage fanbase expectations on this hire.

In fact, his during his one moment to inform the fanbase what was going to happen, to me, was nothing but an extended way of saying, "Don't worry, guys. I'm not going to hire Kirby Smart like I was when I first arrived...." I'll be honest, I'm not convinced this won't happen.

If any of what Clay Travis writes in the opening of his Friday mailbag is true, I don't see Hart being around long enough to actually make the next hire.

I've been dubious on Hart from the beginning. I think I'm still in the denial phase, and I'm hoping all of this is still a smokescreen. It might still come good?

But right now I feel like the fourth quarter of the Florida game; I feel like making some real smokescreens with a few old mattresses right now.
What is there to get over, Gruden never intented on coming here he is one more time PRO coach the fan base got all pumped up started hollering Chuckie is coming to town, the same thing will happen again in 3 years if we dont get a proven College Coach, the right guy can turn this around quick, not a OC or DC LIKE Smart.:good!:

"Don't worry, not Kirby" is not good enough.

If Gruden wasn't his guy, this was the time to tell everybody.

I stand by this.

Don't worry. Not Kirby. IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

I say again, if Gruden just wasn't "Hart's guy" he had better deliver the Mutha Fookin' crystal football with "his guy."

No No No... He should have a press conference. To tell every single one of you Grudenites that haven't slept in 3 weeks and have not seen the sun in that time. That you are all stupid...

The fans started all this Gruden stuff wish his wife had been a vandy cheerleader instead of UT.:)

NO!

We had legitimate information that the boosters were making this kind of high profile, home run hire possible.

We know there was reciprocated interest.

What we are hearing now is that Hart said "NO!" If he did, he had better have the freakin' clone of Neyland on tap and ready to lead us not just to SECChampionships, but crystal footballs.

It's out of our hands really fellas. I hate to play devils advocate but if the guy hired smart or butchy and they went on to make us legit competitors again he will look like a genius. We don't really know how it's gonna play out until it happens. I don't want to be disappointed so I'm gonna say that Smart or Chavis are the two he is seriously considering. Just my take, I'm no genius but just my opinion.

It's all Hart's fault Gruden didn't want to come here.

Yea its all Hart's fault that a guy getting payed 4 million plus a year in a zero stress job commentating football turned down a high pressure, time consuming college job for tops 6 million a year (he should not have been offered more than that imo). Gruden was a long shot. I turned down a job offer for more money last week because I knew that it wasn't worth it in the long run. Everyone makes that decision at some point in time. I'm glad if Gruden wasn't 100% on board with the job that he said no. With that said how many times did Saban say publicly that he would not leave Miami for Bama or Urban say he wouldn't leave ESPN for Ohio State. I've given up on Gruden coming but you never know.

You forgot the part about the 100's of rules that he had already admitted that he thought were stupid and that he didn't know if he could live with or not.

FTR I liked this post! I guess Hart should hold a press conference for every person he interviews, that turns us down. That way the world will know who is and isn't being considered!

Define "legitimate information". Haha random people on a message board is not legitimate. Pick your head up, put on your big boy pants and continue your life! You got played by "OG's" that we're random people who are now nowhere to be found! None of that was legitimate! Good grief this fan base is idiotic!

The OGs were not just stringing us along.

That is backed up by a plethora of legitimate mainstream media sources.

You know what? If that's the case, that's fine.

There is a WORLD of difference between the way the Arky AD has handled their coaching search and the way Hart has handled ours.

Not really that different. Both AD's haven't said a thing. Our fan base had delusional expectations about getting Gruden to UT. Arky's had their own section of Grudenites. Both searches are pretty parallel. Both groups offered big name coaches offers and they said no (UT-Gruden Arky-Miles).

The best sports reporting in Tennessee (TFP)

ESPN

National syndicates.

Ignore is just ostrich with head in ground. Genuine interest. What we are hearing now is that Dave just said, "He ain't my guy."

Be that if you wish.

Or people on a message board could have thought logically and not emotionally, restrained their imaginations, and saved themselves from "embarrassment".

Will never happen on a message board. This is the new reality of today's media communications. Part of any PR plan now has to consider fan boards and blogs as key sources of info for the masses. If not, you get the JG debacle.

It's critical the boosters get this clown fired now before the hire can take place. Dang put Majors or fulmer in to make a hire. I just dont trust this guy. He's like a sneaky politician.

The problem Hart has IMO is there really is no rock star excitement type coach available out there to hire right now. Even the top coaches most of us have listed or would like to see are going to generate a collective ho hum once Hart does hire somebody ... and that's not a good thing for the program IMO.
