Dawg Fans Talking Smack

You'll get no trash talk from me. I don't expect Tennessee to beat Georgia but I'm well aware the Vols are capable of winning.
I look at it like this: Bryce Young is five times the quarterback that Stetson Bennett is. UGA's defense is not worlds better than Bama's, if any. We will probably have back at least one, if not two, of our top CBs. I wouldn't be surprised if UGA is barely favored with the three points that home-field is supposed to provide.

An even bigger factor in our favor: Heupel has been telling this team all year that the goal was a championship, this year. Clearly they are believing him; now they can see that goal is in sight. If ever a team went into a game motivated, it will be us for that one.

Georgia's confident because they have depth. Depth that most teams don't have. The Heupel genius is playing fast and making their depth sit on the bench gathering dust. The test then becomes, can your *now* lack of depth compete with our speed? Hanging 52 on Bama says no.

Only care about being #1 after the championship game.

I continually try to make my 13 year old realize that this is literally the only ranking that matters. Until then, it's all just chatter. I just want our Vols to keep doing what they are doing...worry about the challenge for this week (UTM) and then move on to the next one. It's been a hell of a ride so far and I can't wait to see how things stand at the end of this special season.

Georgia has every right to talk trash. They sucked and underachieved my whole life, just about. This is their time to shine. They are pissed that Tennessee is about to put them back into the corner. Let them talk all they want. The field is where it matters. Tennessee beats them in a few weeks, and they will all vanish.

Fair enough, do y’all really see Kentucky as being a bigger threat than UT this year or was just somebody spouting off?

I would think a 6 paragraph post on "dawg fans talking smack" would include some examples. I am leaving disappointed
They think their defense will kick our ass. Some believe their defense last year and our team last year will be the same teams meeting this year. To be clear though we reside in their heads. They have a thread on how to stop us, and are talking about us in many others. We are more in there head than any other school by 100.

Watch how we schemed last year.

credit Kirby for being able to anticipate where the challenges will come from. If you think the staff has not studied UT since February you’re crazy.

Kids may not execute but we will have a plan. Champ having safeties aligned correctly (big issue for Bama) will be a focus, as it always is.
Ball controlled, time consuming scoring drives. Wear down and dominate their defense and keep their offense off the field.

Georgia ain’t scared of TN man. But them CB’s betta be dialed in tho. Imo I think Dylan Everette will get a lil playing time especially if someone goes down. Difference between us and Bama, we’re gonna get pressure on Hooka

You could fill three threads in here with UGA talking about UT on a site trafficked half as much as here. In all that talking someone is always gonna say I ain't scared. We will whip em etc. Same crap I get here if I show some team respect. Fans are fans.

Kirby isn’t that great of a coach, he just played the Saban recruiting game early and got more talent than anyone else. He wins off sheer speed and muscle.

Good coaches aren’t losing to our 3 win 2020 team at halftime with ABSURDLY more talent in year 5. Good coaches aren’t getting outschemed by Mizzou for 3.5 quarters.

Heupel is the definition of a good coach, he makes his team play like they were Top 5 recruiting classes when they weren’t.
They had that legacy class that blew them up In a positive way. Meanwhile Butch botched ours.

It's going to be hilarious if Tennessee wins another close one against Georgia in Athens like they did against Alabama:cool::D The Georgia fans will go thermonuclear:eek:o_O:D
Their boards will shut down faster than you've ever seen and Scott Howard will throw down his broadcasting headset and it'll be radio silence.

There would be lots of Sports Media articles about an Earthquake in the SEC:cool: You would probably see the return of articles about the NCAA by sports writers who are Anti-Tennessee:rolleyes:

True. I mean right now we are getting a lot of positive media because everyone sees us as the plucky underdog who just brought down the evil empire a notch. Now if we put a muzzle on the dawg too, I'm just not sure anyone in the media will know what to do with that since everyone seems to think that yes, we have a crazy good explosive offense but we are still kinda a gimick/lucky/plucky team - meaning great to root for because we are still the underdog.

So far, everyone has been saying yeah they beat florida but they are down, they beat Pitt on the road, beat LSU in death valley, beat the bubbas but they are clearly off this year, when we REALLY find out who TN is is when they play X. The next and final X is Georgia (since of course we have to plow through KY first). At some point tho, if we beat gawja - WE ARE NO LONGER THE UNDERDOGS, we are the OVERLORDS. Considering Heupel did that in his second year in the P5, with a still not full roster, it is more than people are prepared for I think.

Guess they can always "but we really wont know until they go through the playoffs lol".

But if it happens, it will be a beautiful thing.

I’ve seen a lot of trash talk from UGA fans the past few days, from people on Facebook to Uncle Lou. It started before this weekend, but it’s really picked up since beating ‘Bama. We are in their heads, big time.

It’s interesting because there are also Dawg fans who are rejoicing to see Bama go down. I think the paradox can be explained this way:

They’ve been on the cusp for 3-5 years and finally got over the hump in last year’s National Championship Game. Now they’re expecting to be the new king of the mountain when the Tide “rolls” out. They likely see our win as a harbinger of Alabama’s impending downfall.

They’re talking trash at us, though, because they’re scared. Our win Saturday may prove to be a harbinger of Bama’s downfall and it may not, but it is most certainly a sign that UT is back. Heupel has done in a year and a half with one full recruiting class what it took Kirby 5 years and multiple top 5 classes to do.

Suddenly their heir apparent status is in question. The writing is on the wall: they will not, in fact, be the “next Bama.” They will, going forward, have to scrap and claw for every shot at the SEC and National Championship, and they better get us this year, because it won’t get any easier.

Know this: if we beat UGA on November 5, the meltdown will be absolutely epic. I think they will take it even worse than the Alabama fanbase has, because Alabama has had their day (read: decade) in the sun. In the minds of UGA’s fans, this is supposed to be their moment. If we beat them, it will mean that at best, they are going to have to share the spotlight; at worst, UT is on the way to putting them back in the position of little brother in the East.

I hope they enjoyed it last year.

GBO.
Just reminds me that Bama was Bama because Tennessee stopped being Tennessee.
