If track and field is a part of it, didn’t our T/F finish 2nd overall.??

That will have to help us in recruiting kids who are interested in track as well.

I understand may be late on this kid, but not many other elite programs are pushing so makes me wonder

So that’s how we recruit?
“Hey nice to meet you, you interested in playing for UT? No? Ok thanks , we want take up anymore of your time “😂😂😂
They made multiple attempts at building a relationship. If a kid expresses that he has no interest at all, then you don’t continue wasting resources. He's more athlete than football player, and likely decides to focus on track at some point. A kid with his physical attributes that's also a real football player should put up the most ridiculous stats ever seen in high school. But this kid is a legitimate future Olympian in track and field.

Fair enough. So UT is recruiting him in track?
I know UT at one time was tops in track, don’t know about now.

FYI

This kid ran 20.79 in 200 meter at 17 years old! Before Erriyon Knighton last year, the record for 17 year old was held by Usain Bolt.....

Kid also ran a 6.79 --- 60 meter.

He’s really good at track
I don't see this kid giving up track. He has Olympic potential. When you take into account that he's practically current DK Metcalf physically, playing against high school kids, his football performance isn't very impressive. He'll need to choose football or track to reach his full potential.

When watching clips at the AA bowl week he wasn't a natural pass catcher at all. Doesn't mean he won't develop but as of now his ball skills is suspect

Many project him as an EDGE for that very reason. Putting on the weight to play that position likely destroys his track dreams though. Unless he can develop into a competent WR, I don't see football in his prolonged future. I don't see TE as a viable option either.

He's going to be a TE at SC. Maryland pitched him the idea of playing on offense and ever since then he's wanted to play TE instead of DL so he could preserve his body for track
