DC Black Hawk vs Plane crash.

What test? What was changed?
A CTI program offered at some colleges, which from my understanding is multiple tests and 200 hours of “training” and if you passed you have an extremely likely chance of getting hired. During the obama admin they added 114 biographical questionnaire that if you didn’t pass you’d automatically be ineligible, some of the questions were things like if u played multiple sports in HS. There was a guy about 10 years ago that had a perfect score through the CTI program, gets to the new biographical test and fails and they said he’s ineligible. There was a big lawsuit over it.
There’s been multiple lawsuits over this change and it resulted in 2016 to congress passing a law against using it as a first line hiring tool

There was also a whole cheating scandal

For sure but now they advertise it and base everything off of it. Before it was the unspoken hires that everyone knew why that person was hired and many times it just made everyone else have to do more to cover for it.
I really need to use being a minority to my advantage.

Not even including the "military" one @gcbvol

“Biographical” questions.

Sounds like what SCOTUS told Universities they couldn’t do anymore to engineer the outcomes they wanted.

If it's merit based (which you yourself said EVERY HIRE you made was), then why should that matter?

There are reasons for companies to place utility in having a diverse workforce. It does not have to mean that unqualified people are being hired. It can simply mean that people with a differing range of interpersonal skills are being hired. A culturally diverse workforce can increase productivity and efficiency through increased specialization. The prospective benefits will often depend on the mission of the business in question. It's being discussed too broadly here.

Now, having said that .... This discussion really doesn't belong in this thread. It's only here because Trump brought it up. He shouldn't have. There is no indication that a DEI initiative was in any way responsible for this tragedy.

The McKinsey research “results” that are so often cited have been attempted to be recreated multiple times - no one has been able to do it.

It wasn't a joke, though. Military service is part of DEI. At least is was where I worked.

And being gay never did anything for me. Of course I rarely talked about it at work for most of my early career.

Where I’ve worked being a veteran was a valuable part of one’s resume and had nothing to do with diversity but as part of a persons skills, experience, etc. Being a woman, certain race, homosexual, trans, etc didn’t mean s***.
