'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

If I’m being honest, our coaches “trust” priority when determining snaps, minutes and overall playing time is personally annoying. Nothing I can’t overcome, but Flowers and now McCollough are cringey examples.

We want him playing if he’s the best option, freshman or not. Not sure why anybody thinks Freshman = not very good or not ready. Play the kid if he’s the best we have at the position.

If he’s here for spring (and even better if for bowl practices) he’s the type of OT prospect who can do it. Heck Bama is starting a True Freshman at OT and Proctor, while big, isn’t the athlete Seaton is.

Not sure we want a freshman OT starting, but we can at least sell the opportunity with Campbell and Crawford leaving, which Bama cannot.

It’s usually not ideal to have a true freshman OL starting in the SEC. However when you have a truly elite level OL like Seaton, you roll the dice. I remember when Cam Robinson started on Bamas OL as a true freshman in 2015. It’s rare but it can happen.

I can give credit where it’s due if needed. I’m a Vol fan first and foremost and this is a Vol forum so it goes without saying I would always think of and reference a Vol great verses a player from any other team, especially a rival. But hey, you be you and I’ll continue to be me.

I honestly forgot that Trey started as a true freshman. That was during the Butch days. Days I like to forget lol. But if we get Seaton, I hope he is Heupels Trey Smith.
