With all that being said, Tennessee is gaining the most buzz at this point. The Vols are currently sitting on 247Sports No. 12 ranked recruiting class as they push for a second-straight Top 10 haul.
-Matt RayNIL recruitments are very different. No doubt about that. Idk what AP said at the time about Carnell Tate but less than a week before his announcement, I flew to Las Vegas and did a commitment interview with the kid outside of OT7 and he was ready to pull the trigger to TN.
Spoke to Steve that same night at the hotel, and he felt the same that TN was out in front. It flips on a dime at times, and that one flipped late. Like AP said, all you can do in this day and age is go with what you have at the time. No one has a better pulse on the TN side of things than he does.
“Coach Heupel and Coach Elarbee, those two guys right there,” “They’re like best friends and that’s good for me. Having a head coach that likes to protect the offensive line is good and I like the system they run.
“What stands out about Tennessee is the development. Darnell Wright was a five-star prospect just like me. Coach Elarbee he’s showing what he can do with five-star prospects. Not only five-star prospects but your average offensive lineman and turn them into a very good player. I feel if he got his hands on me in three to four years I could be the No. 1 pick round one.”
