Since I live in Arkansas and date a Hog fan I listen to thier talk shows and the funny part is their AD has never said one thing about their coaching search either. Their radio hosts are just as clueless and ours. I'm sure you have seen or at least heard about Grudenville and all the rumors about Gruden to Arkansas. Jeff Long(Arkansas AD) still didn't adress them even when they started getting out of control. I'm not a fan of Hart and I hope he has a "homerun" hire but he is not the only AD that doesn't address unsubsatiated rumors from a message board.

With as tough as you are, I think we should fire Hart and hire you! No way Gruden would have turned you down....

Why does Hart have to come out and defend anything? He's never made a bad hire here at UT and until he does.....back up!!!!!!

Apparently Gruden didn't turn Hart down bc Hart never contacted him til Today.....so what was to turn down when no offer was even made

I worked with a man that reminded me of Hart. Every time he walked in a room he would look around and know he was the smartest man in the room, then about an hour into the meeting everyone else. I have worked around him during some large business deals and he had a way to let everyone else blow a smoke screen without saying a word so he could do his job behind the scenes. Then when he finds the person he wants he goes in and makes him an offer he can’t refuse and walks away with a signed contract. I have seen how he works first hand and am still doing me the job he recruited me for.
I have watched him in action handling executives from a fortune 100 company and how he just works the stars to be in his alignment and closes the deal.
Dave Hart told us to just sit back and be patient and trust him to do his job. I have seen posts that he needs to start working on this and that he is so far behind. He has built such a nice smoke screen that even had me drinking the Guraid but I think he has his guy. He may have had him all along, so why has he not said anything. I have an idea, just look at the coaches who are coaching tomorrow. Before a good coach, a coach we would want to hire, I would think he would want to finish his season and any conference championship game. So when that is over papers will be signed and we will have our new coach. Of the coaches we would want who is not coaching tomorrow?

We must hang Hart tonight from a campus tree. Then we will burn his body over the stadium. As we're doing the burning, if he screams out "why" (after being hanged) we will yell back "you know why".

Then and only then will Gruden sign the contract.

Honestly, I would be very happy with Strong, Tressel or Fedora

If I had my pick of anyone it would be Tressel - I know he's probably the biggest long shot, but if you really break down his show clause it isn't that bad. Maybe he got out coached in the title games....but at least he was in them

Didn't Hart hire Coach Martin? I really like what he is doing for the University. He has lunch with students at Presidential and holds practice for the Rowdies. He also teaches the guys how to dress and tie ties making sure they know how to dress.


We're competing in Basketball and he's a heck of a recruiter.

We might not get a big name and I will be monumentally disappointed but it might be a great hire eventually.

Martin is doing just fine and was a good hire.

Anyone who says anything negative about whoever Hart hires before giving him a chance to coach some games here just needs something to bit*& about. They would not be happy with anything so don't bother trying to figure them out.

I agree, so many feel he is failing at his job and won't even let him have a chance to make a hire and let it play out.

I'm not a Hart ass-kisser, and I like the original topic here. It's silly how many immature, unrealistic posters on here made themselves believe that Gruden was coming here based on absolutely nothing, and then acted like a jilted lover when they were brought into reality. You don't have to be an ass-kisser to see how ignorant a lot of the people posting here have been acting. If I was a coaching candidate and came on this forum, I'd run the other way.

I am in the National Gurad and deployed right now. I am pretty much useless in any efforts to do anyting myself. However, and I am 100% serious about this, I think the fans can make a difference. Therefore, I am calling for a 100,000 VOL FAN MARCH!. I am completely serious here everybody. 100,000 fans, right up to Harts door. maybe the Rock. it need to be organized. People need to grows some balls. Nobody ever stands up for anything anymore. Does anybody really think that hart reads these boards? And if he does, do you think he really gives a damn about what people say here? But, action, that speaks loudly and cant be ignored. A messge board is good for messages, not good for action. I swear to you, if i were home, I would do everything I possibly could, even if I had to go by myself and hope others would join me and make my voice known, right to the little weasels face! We can manage, or we used to could manage, to get 100,000 fans in the stands for one football game. Why cant we get 100,000 together to save the entire TN Vol Football program. Do we want to sit back and watch the best recruits go to bama and Florida? Do we want to continue to watch SECCG's with everyone in it but UT? Do we want to continue to see 6-6, 5-7 or worse seasons? hell no! Im sorry. Something has to happen. Hart cares so little about the fans, that he cant even make one little statement. you think? hell I dont know. You would think that a Dept Head would want to be reassuraing to the ones that make or break him. There is no good excuse for keeping folks hanging. How hard can it be to make a short statement?

Why make a statement if the guy your hiring has asked you not to? Why try to force something when keeping it quiet is the safe play for now? Just because things are quiet, does not mean the atomic bomb is not about to land in the middle of Knoxville. Just be patient.
