Even with those things in mind here is why it would be in the best interest of our basketball program to cut ties with coach martin now:

-We have missed the tournament 2 years in a row after being there 6 strait times. Not to mention losing in the first round of the NIT.

- With our play up to this point there is no basketball mind that would tell you Tennessee can continue to play at this level and make the tourney field this season.

- We have IMO the most talented team that we have had on the floor since we went to the elite 8 and it is being wasted. If we change coaches at the end of the season it would take them at least 3 years to get the talent level on the floor back to where it is now.

-By bringing in a new coach we give this team a chance to do something in march. It would not be an easy situation but I am still 100% confident that a coach could make the transition and have our team playing much more consistent and at a higher level pretty quickly.

- Yes I would love to see Bruce Pearl back but at this point I would love to see anyone with a decent track record have a chance with this talent.

If I have to watch RPI to see if we make the tourney, this season has been a failure unless we make a serious run in the tourney.

Pretty much the most ridiculous comment I've seen on here. I'm starting to notice the people who scream racism the loudest are usually the biggest racists.

We have played really well lately but I still don't think Martin is the answer. I ain't hating on the guy at all either. Its going to take a little more than a couple of blowouts and more consistency for me to believe in him. I want to watch one game where he goes up against an average to decent coach and actually say "wow. Martin actually outcoached this guy" or maybe go on the road and beat a few teams. I hope he is successful and I'd rather praise a guy representing our great university than fault someone for sucking it up. So...win win win.

Pearl lovers....your dedicated...I'll say that lol

Calipari, Calhoun and Donovan.

There's quite a few national championships amongst those 3, and Martin has won more than he's lost against those guys. Just saying.

Not at all out of perspective, read what I quoted. He said he wants to see and be able to say ONE GAME that Martin out coached a decent coach...I simply pointed out that Martin has won more than he has lost against national championship winning coaches, would they not be considered "decent"?
