Dear Scotty

Man good to see all the UT fans supporting Scotty. No wonder G Jones helped sway G Wright to Auburn. All Scotty has done is carry this team with only one other scoring option on the team for the last half of the year.

I would imagine it is frustrating as hell that if he or Tobias can't score, Tennessee doesn't score.

I have a novel idea, how about supporting your team and the players instead of constantly dogging them.

Who are these delusional people who keep talking about Scotty leaving?! Leaving to go where?! He is not an NBA player, they play defense in the NBA and pressure the ball. . .he cannot dribble. Scotty is either back next year, or sitting on a bench somewhere in Europe.

I tend to agree...as well he seems fragile and not strong enough to mix it up in the NBA.

Carry the team to an NCAA bubble and disappear in big games. You have your opinion, I have mine. And my point was he is not an NBA player. . .

I was just thiNking the same thing. I was also wondering if any of our genius talent evaluators would like to make a wager on Scottys chances of making an NBA payroll.

I'm just telling you this. . .Scotty will not go in the first round. . .and when average college players can steal the ball from Hopson, NBA guards will have a field day.

I didn't say anything about him going in the first round, I think he will be a second rounder. The kid has talent, there is no doubt about it, and he might ride the pine for his career, but he will get drafted IMO.

Scotty will dazzle in Italy...not the NBA. Those moves will not work in the NBA.

This was one of the biggest games of the year and a chance for his to step up in from of NBA scouts. . .Hopson had 7 TOs and the rest of the team had 5.

Your right, 19 points last night....totally disappeared. 17.3 points per game average......man he stinks.

He does not stink...those high school dribble/spin moves are working for him in a weak SEC. He will not be able to penetrate the paint with those moves in the NBA....so take that aspect away from him and what is left? Average ball control, pretty good 3 point shooter....lousy D, pouty attitude when things go poorly for him.

Lofton was a superior player in all aspects of the game...using him as a benchmark, I don't see the NBA in Scotty's future.

This thread is so full of people who are just saying things...not thinking, just saying.

Seems like everyone I read flows that way.

It never ceases to amaze me how fans dissect the games and always try to pinpoint a reason we lost.

I say give Florida their due. They shot 9 of 12 to start the first half and 82% the second half.

Scotty definitely struggled the first half last night and he tends to due that when he gets in to big of a hurry.

There is no question Scotty Hopson can play in the NBA but I think Tobias and he would benefit from another year in college barring that dreaded injury.

Hell, if I were Scotty I'd want to get out of here.

indeed.

Scotty Hopson does what he can for a team that is SO inept on the court. Kemba Walker and Uconn has had their rough patches, but luckily Kemba was surrounded by a shred of talent, unlike Scotty. I don't like a lot of things about Scotty's game, but to dog him while he attempts to drag a re-re basketball club into the Tourney is a lil...re-re. He had 7 turnovers, moreso because everything about our club is setup to get him the ball, and get out of his way so he can win for us. He can only do so much.

I agree tho on the NBA part. He won't do so hot there, but his options are a little sucky. To stay at Tennessee means he could or could not be playing a 2nd season with Tobias (which is the only other shining hope), and may or may not be playing for Bruce Pearl. Plus, if this years team sucked, next years doesn't look like a powerhouse of awesome either.

Does that mean you would like to accept my offer and place a wager on his chances of cashing an NBA paycheck? Sigs are nice. I'm thinking of Hopson winds up in the Italian league before the NBA I will change mine to say mattock was right. If he goes to the league you can change yours to say that you are an immature blowhard who wants players to fail because you are angry that UT lost.

Deal?

Average age on here seems to be @ 15 after losses. People can't discuss the aspects of the game, specifically coaching mistakes and player mistakes, without personal attacks or wanting somebody fired. Ridiculous, imo.

So...one bad game and we dog our best player? Instead of dogging on Scotty, how about we call out that lazy piece of crap that is Cam Tatum?

Scotty Hopson will definitely be in the NBA. I am not sure if he will ever start for a team, but he will undoubtedly be on an NBA team. Those who say otherwise are not thinking correctly.

If he improves his ball handling, I'm thinking a not as good JR Smith. Someone who can give you 10-12 points off the bench, stretch a defense with his shooting, and very good in transition.

I agree with all of this post but last sentence. Those who say other wise are idiots.

For those reasons, as well as everyone around here labeling him a "bust" and blaming every.single.loss on him.

Write this down. . .if a team is stupid enough to draft Hopson in the first round, that GM will be gone in a year and Scotty will not be on the team. They play defense in the NBA, and Scotty disappears against average college teams. . .

you sir are an idiot
