Dear Scotty

Who plays defense in the NBA? Maybe somebody can name a team.

Watch the Celtics or Lakers play, there is a reason that they are in finals almost every year. The reason you think there is no defense is because the games are so high scoring, but its because these are the best scorers in the world. You should check it out. Its pretty awesome.

Does that mean you would like to accept my offer and place a wager on his chances of cashing an NBA paycheck? Sigs are nice. I'm thinking of Hopson winds up in the Italian league before the NBA I will change mine to say mattock was right. If he goes to the league you can change yours to say that you are an immature blowhard who wants players to fail because you are angry that UT lost.

Deal?

i don't want players to fail. . .i just don't think he's an NBA player. . .and I don't get angry about UT losing, I'm used to it at this point. And as for your bet, I'd say we are both immature blowhards depending on who you ask.

Who are these delusional people who keep talking about Scotty leaving?! Leaving to go where?! He is not an NBA player, they play defense in the NBA and pressure the ball. . .he cannot dribble. Scotty is either back next year, or sitting on a bench somewhere in Europe.

Have you watched the Knicks?

or warriors, or suns, or nuggets...

If he improves his ball handling, I'm thinking a not as good JR Smith. Someone who can give you 10-12 points off the bench, stretch a defense with his shooting, and very good in transition.

His ceiling is really high, maybe even higher than that. But he's got a lot of things to get better at. NBA guys will certainly do a better job helping him get there than what he's received from this staff.

so which team is picking him in the first round? Where's he going in your mock draft, sir?

Not sayin he will b a star or even start but there are a lot of teams that could use an athletic 3 that can shoot. Suns, Warriors, Hawks, Magic(just not in love w jrich), Cavs(obviously 2nd round), Kings

those high school dribble/spin moves are working for him in a weak SEC. He will not be able to penetrate the paint with those moves in the NBA....so take that aspect away from him and what is left? Average ball control, pretty good 3 point shooter....lousy D, pouty attitude when things go poorly for him.

This is a dumb thing to say. In the NBA, he would definitely have better plays, better picks set for him, and better pg distribution. Right now hes on a team that doesn't run a legitimate offense, doesn't set picks that give him space, and has a pg that averages less than three assists a game. And to think that he wouldn't have a coach to teach him better slashing moves is ridiculous

He might just need better coaching. It's not like Bruce is known for his players developing.

Tobias would be the 1st pick in the draft if they only played a half of a game.He seems to always disappear after halftime.Hopson like everbody else has been saying for years,he needs to learn some ball handling skills and I thought Pearl would fix this problem after his freshmen year.Guess not.Hopson better come back regardless of who the coach is.If not he will be depending on his degree.

Scotty doesn't work on his ball handling on his own enough and doesn't have good hands. If I'm hop, I would have had that fixed on my own in the summer rather than playing in the rocky top league. BP has made plenty of mistakes, but hard working athletes take personal responsibility, especially when there is so much on the line for them.

I like the Magic, so I watch as many of their games as I can. They could use another ball-handler, they have shooters. He would not see the floor for them.

Not dogging him, but I seriously doubt Scotty would be drafted. IMO, and I believe someone else noted this, Lofton was a better all around player, and he's not in the NBA. I think Scotty has more raw potential than Chris did, and maybe an NBA team would see that and sign him to a developmental team, but I just don't think they would draft him. Most likely he would end up overseas. Not being anti-UT or anti-Hopson, just trying to be realistic.

Everybody plays in the RTL. Not sure what that has to do.

And Scotty has improved his ball handling lately, despite the lapses he had last night.

There are a select number of NBA teams that play D and they are the ones that win. One thing the NBA is all about nowadays is athleticism. That is one thing scotty has plenty of, thats what sets him apart from lofton. Scotty will get his shot, its just all up to him whether he succeeds or not.
