Defensive Expectations

LOL.

You are the biggest drama queen on the board... and want to tell someone else to stop posting?

I have a pulse on reality. I have no issue with Tennessee being good or becoming good.

You missed the part where I said “if player A isn’t good”.... If it’s condescending to acknowledge that, so be it.
Yeah. It is condescending and consistent with your attitude since I first ran across you on the old Knoxville Sentinel comment board. You are exactly why a lot of us hate UF... that subtle tilt of your head so you can look down your nose at UT and UT fans. At least you are quite denying it any more.

I’ll eat the bump on my recent post. When was the last time a loss like this didn’t result in a HC search?
Respect for coming back. I didn't think anyone would. AFAIK, a loss like this has always resulted in a coaching search. Maybe vols fans are just so battered and shellshocked at this point that we don't know what to do anymore

I see some talk out there, y'all need to cool your jets. The defense will be below average this year, almost guaranteed. Now is the chance to adjust your expectations . 6-6 with a chance at a bowl would be a win this year. The O-line is weakest link (again). Notice how Chaney has been working with the O-line almost exclusively? Not good. Pruitt needs at least 5 years to turn this ship around. Two 5-stars last year is great start. Problem I see is if we get embarrassed on prime time ESPN against BYU it could seriously hinder our ability to get more 5-star talent. Thoughts?

“Thoughts”

Georgia State murdered the Tennessee program on Saturday.

A public service announcement from Grandpaw. Please turn your flags back right side up. The danger is now over; however out of respect please lower to half staff as no one noticed Tennessee’s distress signal and now the program is dead.

You missed the part where I said “if player A isn’t good”. And this is true at Florida and damn near every other school. If you don’t start over a quality player fine. If you can’t beat out players who have proven to be God awful, that might be a problem.

They have been 4-8 and 5-7 in consecutive seasons. They had no one drafted this past year. Their lines of scrimmage have been brutal.

It would be fair to suggest that veteran talent is lacking. What Tennessee may have is young talent and if that’s the case that bodes well a year or two from now, but this season poses to be problematic.

In the meantime, other schools recruit, have strength and conditioning programs, have coaches who can coach, etc.

Hopefully, Pruitts signees pan out and he’s given time. Meanwhile, there are problems. If it’s condescending to acknowledge that, so be it.

I wanted to bump this in case certain posters wanted to acknowledge that I may have known what I was talking about
