Deion Intro Speech

This has got to be the worst introductory speech I’ve ever heard. He basically crapped on the entire programs and it’s players 😂

I actually find Coach Prime entertaining and a good coach. Good coaches are honest with their players and don’t lie to them. He flat out told them to either get ready to put in work or leave. He also told them he was bringing players with him including his son that’s QB.

I would say 90% chance that it blows up in his face in 2-3 years time and becomes a very expensive experiment.

10% is good odds if you are Colorado though.

At that point his son will be in the NFL why would he care? Deon is now and has always been the biggest blowhard in sports. Maybe he will be better than what they had but Colorado is likely not heading back to previous glory years. Well unless the CFP keeps expanding

Yeah, after watching that, very cringey
It's only cringy for two reasons. One, in today's world folks don't get told the truth. Two, his color makes you feel cringy. I loved it. I love when kids and people are told the truth. They suck, he's not keeping the majority of that team anyways. He is being upfront and telling them that on day one.

So…. I absolutely love boulder. I go all the time. I love the buffs
This was a media/leverage move. CU football has nothing going for it. People don’t even show. This was a move to shock the program. 2 5 stars already

Personally I wouldn’t say things exactly like that…….but I’m not a professional coach.

However when you put it straight like that, some come ready to work, some come ready to leave, some come ready to make excuses, some come ready to hear and learn………you know exactly what you got and who you got to work it with……..quickly.

He will weed out what doesn’t belong, keep what can possibly work, and work with what is working………while making room for talent.

Again I’m no paid coach, I also don’t know the whole situation……..but we know it’s a broken situation. Good way to try and fix it sooner rather than later is getting rid of the bad, the unwilling, the cancer, the untalented quickly and starting over……..with whatever you got left (especially with the portal and his name has weight).

Thought it was going to be bad based on the OP's comment, but seemed on par for a coach meeting the players after multiple straight terrible seasons.

He's talking to players of a 1-11 team that got blown out a decent number of those games. You don't like the coach challenging them to work harder and demanding better results?

Look at their seasons the last 20 or so years. Pretty rough - List of Colorado Buffaloes football seasons - Wikipedia

Eh. I respect it overall, but he definitely made it about him, not about the program. Just repeated "I'm coming" the whole time.

Make some actual noise on the field coach and Heupel and his crew will happily square off with you in the post-season.
He went from being all about supporting and building up historically black universities to the whitest place in America

Old school approach to a program that is dog water. He isnt gonna lie to ya. If you aint gonna put in the work. Your gone. If you dont want to be there. Your gone. He will have 0 issues replacing you. Def adopting the Buffs as my 2nd team. Gonna be must watch TV.
