Delta Variant

That just doesn't make any scientific sense, whatsoever. Placebo effect?

I will not argue the science, because yeah, it seems questionable. Maybe the vaccine stimulated immune responses even though the disease should have already done that. She is a smart gal, honest, about as objective an observer as you'll ever meet. I'm glad it helped her, for whatever reasons. I haven't had covid that I know about, but my guess is that it could get a person's emotions a little stirred.

So you are trying to put words into my mouth. Where besides nowhere did I say that only right wingers question the vaccine's safety? Look-it, I am not interested in trying to talk with someone who distorts what I say for the purpose of making something I did not say easy to refute or ridicule. I'm sorry, but I'm just not interested in knowing you.
You attempted to conflate being unsure and hesitant to take the vax with being "right wing". Though you did not come out and say that specifically it was implied, heavily, in your post. I called it out and you got defensive. It is what it is.

I simply don't care who you want to get to know or not. This is a public forum and people are going to comment. Don't like it, you know what to do, you're not new around here.

I don't understand the liberal angst about unvaccinated people. If right wing conservatives aren't getting vaccinated then they should all die off and they'll be nothing left but left wing communist. They'll have their utopia. I'll still be here to suffer through the destruction. Now I'm rethinking my choice to get vaccinated.

There's really no science to question since we don't really know the science behind what's causing these long hauler symptoms. I presume it has something to do with an immune response gone haywire. Perhaps the vaccine helped out the immune system in some way? We know the vaccine is all about affecting the immune system

The liberal mantra is that unvaccinated people keep us from herd immunity and allow for more variants to form, thus they (the unvaccinated) are selfish and hurting society

If you look at that side of the issue, the vaccine is designed to stimulate the immune response to covid. So it seems possible that it could boost immune response of long haulers. Even though they already have antibodies, could be that the vaccine stimulates more. It sure stimulated mine. I felt like I was getting seriously sick with a disease I did not have.

This makes sense. No matter if the effect is scientific or placebo, it's good news and I'm happy that people are feeling better. That's a good thing

I read an article yesterday that stated investors are starting to move away from Phiser and moderna because they were hoping that their vaccines would require boosters seasonally and as it appears now that isn't going to be the case. They think the mrna vaccines will offer years of immunity.

Don't invest in the right thing, invest in the profitable thing. I wonder how many potential treatments for a number of illnesses and diseases have died in the methodology phase not because they weren't efficacious but because they wouldn't generate enough profit long-term.

Glad she is feeling better.

Speaking from personal experience, having the actual infection and being stuck and home will rattle almost anyone. I really only knew one person around my age that had been seriously ill, but it was hard not to let thoughts of getting that sick creep into my thoughts at night. I think at least half of my "symptoms" were anxiety-induced. Once I forced myself to exercise, go out for a walk, etc, I was on the mend.

It’s really that simple
I weighed the options and my situation lead me to get the vaccine. Others will choose not too. We both will live with the consequences of those actions.
Being mad because someone makes a different personal decision than me is just childish.

So o guess when all.the other right wingers die it will just be you and me to clean up the mess?

I lost a healthy friend to this thing not long ago. There just has to be an underlying health problem we didn’t know about. Sadly we will never know. In my mind nobody is promised tomorrow so they should do whatever they think is right for themselves and their family

Was she suffering from fibromyalgia?

If people don't want the vaccine they shouldn't be forced to take it. It's their bodies and their decision and they shouldn't be forced by law to take it.

That being said, good Lord, get the vaccine people! Life's too short to be this paranoid. I know some of you think you're on some "righteous path" or trying to thumb your nose at the collective by refusing it but all you're doing is prolonging this pandemic by continuing to put yourself at risk of COVID and potentially over burdening our hospitals again. You remind me of those religious nuts you read about in the news that let their 8 year old child die because seeing doctors and taking medicine is "against God's will."

I'm a liberal and I think you got it mostly right (more obstinate than selfish) . What is the conservative mantra?

I'm glad you recovered. She stayed in good shape by getting out a lot for long rides on her bicycle, before and after the Covid. I think we agree that a situation like that can mess with a person's head, but I know her to have a sound mind. The effects of Covid are all over the board, and the docs do not have answers for it all. Knowing her as I do, doubting something she tells me is at the bottom of my list of reactions.

Thank you, but I'll pass until it has some history. It has nothing to do with "God's will" either. That is a red herring.

Why don't you stop being so paranoid about something that is 99% survivable?
